Marquis de Sade was a french post-punk, new wave band founded in 1977, in Rennes. "Dantzig Twist" (1978) was a succession of raw and surrealistic pieces, like "Conradt Veidt. For "Rue de Siam" (1980), they were joined by sax players Daniel Herpin and Philippe Paboeuf, with a touch of "white funk". Produced by Steve Nye, it's a dark jewel, with relentless rhythmics. And tormented themas, as the "suicide" of the RAF (Rote Armee Fraktion) terrorists in Stammheim jail (Final fog).
