  • It sound like bad transponder key.

  • Thanks, yea it turned out to be a bad starter. I bought a reman one and apparently it was bad too. Sold the car a few months ago, and the gauges were off an se.

  • not of does thing people are saying will solve problem ...the real problem is the starter getting weak and sooner or later it will give out and it wont turn on....i had the same problem and many people told me stuff like this fuel pump, cat converters...pathetic,,,anyways trust me is the starter getting weak...it is common for maximas to have this issue,,,but they are good cars....hope it helps

  • @calenitosolo1 yup its the starter. my brothers starter just went out. he thought it was the battery(100% charged) so we'll be replacing the starter tomorrow.

  • yupp not EVERY car has 1 catalytic converter looks like a fuel pump or intergraded relay control modgel (aka) ircm

  • where do you get white gauges with the digital opening i have stock black ones on mine

  • @Che1seabluesdr0gba11 white gauge comes only on SE edition so if you have GLE or GXE you should have the black ones...

  • @dimuccio1228 fuel pump or relay

  • OOMGGGG!!!! MY 2000 MAXIMA DOES THE SAME THING.. CHECK OUT MY VIDEO OF IT NOT STARTING... OH AND I KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT, (well at least i know whats wrong with mine) BUT IF MY CAR DOES THE SAME THING AS YOUR CAR YOU'LL KNOW TO, ANYWAY ITS THE FUEL PUMP AND I NEED A COUPLE NEW CATALLITIC CONVERTERS!!! :) hope it helps!!!

  • @FriedBullet99 A couple? idiot.

  • @RoniisH only tryin to help

  • @FriedBullet99 Well, you're being an idiot. There's no such thing as a "couple of catalytic converters". Each car has ONE catalytic converter.

  • @RoniisH oh really check a 1997 ford expedition and you find theres more than 1 catalytic converter on it...... now say your sorry for bein a IDIOT...

  • @RoniisH oh really wanna rethink that.... check on a 1997 ford expedition and youll find that theres more than just ONE...catalytic converter, and heres another thing... get your facts straight before you start talkin out of your ASS! im sorry IDIOT!

  • @RoniisH not true new ford rangers have 5

  • @deanbhill Ford sucks.

  • @RoniisH 100% agree but as a mechanic i have worked on those p.o.s. trucks and cars. i personally drive a mercedes

  • be happy that that the key even turns in the ignition. this is what you get from the japs.

  • @th3ha1og0d Yeah, you should look to americans for good cars like the chevy crapalier and the pontiac shitfire. Are you getting Japanese made mixxed up with Korean?

  • its the ground to the tranny just had mine fixed dont just sand it the problem will come back you have to sand it and run another Thick guage wire to the tranny and the neg on the battery

  • look this is the problem....you ready for it? i had it on my Maxima as well..... IT IS YOUR GROUNDING WIRES....

buy a 4 gauge wire and run it as following:

engine block, tranny housing, one of the starter wires, body or chassy, and then to the negative cable on your battery.

    problem solved

  • plugs, injectors, MAF, fuel pump (maybe) did you install a Underdrive Crank Pully? Because if it doesnt have that little tab on it, it wont start... for your crankposition sensor.. I put on a crank pully a while back on my 97 max and i had the same problem, put the OEM one back on and it worked, and it was because of these little metal tabs' on the pully that hits the sensor and i guess adjusts timing..
