hmm I must say I do agree with the whole lack of zombies thing. I would LOVE for capcom to release a level or new game that brings back the old creatures of yester-year but still have all the modern updates from RE4/5 now I did buy this update and played it through with a buddy of mine and even though it was short, and wasn't exactly what I was expecting I did enjoy it and didn't consider it much of a loss since it was 5 bucks

I'm a rarity in the Resident Evil gaming world, and I know that: I've never played one or three and only about 10 minutes of two; I couldn't stand the gameplay. Four and five, I loved; as a result, I massively enjoyed LIN for the simple fact that I at least got an IDEA of what the hell happened in RE one. Your complaint is totally legit tho. Tho I did enjoy the Wesker fight, tho it was repetitive and unneeded.

I AGREE 100% honestly what were they thinking yes the add on was fantastic FOR THE 5 DOLLAR PRICE. though really what you fight some zombies but I would like to be RAPED SURROUNDED by them like walkig down the halls an both ends are filled by them chasing for you. Just wish the endless possibilities. I just hope they make an update an actually put enemies. Though a fan can wish.. I just hope resident evil 6 puts zombies and make it caustrophic but KEEP COOP

they did what i want every maker to do and that's to the original and restart the series from their 8 bit counterparts, sadly enough the companies try to hard to just work on the games popularity, and i also feel that im the only guy who liked bionic commando lol. but for 5 bux they still could have put more enemy types in. but if you absolutely need to kill zombies then dead rising 2 may slake your zombie lust, either that or the new splatterhouse :P

I agree 100 percent. In my version there were 3 zombies. however they were just laying on the ground and a single shot to the head killed them. Ive been a fan of resident evil sience the first re. Nothing scared me more growing up than re. But I dont like the new direction re has taken. It went from a survival horror to a action shooter. I really wish they would either remake the old ones or bring out a new one with zombies and not these over agressive los plagus characters. I NEED ZOMBIES!

well resi has turned into one big way for capcom to squeeze every penny from the fanbase, I feel. You shouldn't be paying for mercenaries in the first place. But at least gamers aren't being charged an extra 80 dollars a month for Chris' steroid addiction. Good video though, and you get 5 stars for the bloodsport and remo references

Walking around the RE1 style mansion for the first time is powerful and creepy. Unfortunatly the lack of enemies means that this looses all power the second time around. I haven't finished LiN yet because the part where you loose all your weapons and have to get the cranks to trap the badguys was so boring I stopped caring. Such a wasted oppertunity.

let just say they need to stop for accuracy for some reason. or maybe its to let players (like me) to be able to transition form RE4 to RE5?

i think MW2 is underrated even by it's fans

they're so much bothered about losing their KD ratio because of people with Commando or grenade launchers that they can't stop complaining

u make some good points man. i would have LOVED old school zombies (not majini) in the dlc. OMG at the fun. Can u imagine? instead, we just get a tumor thing, and those... things we have to run by on the conveyor belts.... wtf?

however, it was fun. and im glad to see barry and rebecca make their appearance. the mercenaries was never my forte (hell... i suck at it) but... overall... the dlc is more about the little things to me than the big mission. the costumes. the new characters. thats it.

Second, I sold RE5 due to a crippling lack of money, but I probably wouldn't buy this DLC. Are those big guys the ONLY enemy you fight throughout the DLC? Really?

Also, can't wait to see what you say about IW. I'm really enjoying MW2, but it has it's fair share of issues that doesn't make it nearly as good as MW1.

I think we all get burned on DLC at least once, I agree with you that re5 was an enjoyable experience I was all over mercenary mode and made a pretty high score. I however am always very skeptical about DLC and what it offers to a game.

You cant single out capcom for this in my opinion its not the first time DLC has been terrible and it wont be the last.

Sorry to burts your bubble Goose but I really loved L4D2. The areas, the zombies, weapons.

Yeah, it was a linear game and not much puzzles but it was just so much fun and well executed.

The best part is, you don't need to waste your whole clip on one zombie and there are still more than plenty to kill 'em.

Plus unlike in RE5, L4D zombies are seriously ought to get you. They're not messing around, they fucking beat the shit out of you and are kicking you in the head even when you're down.

I really have issues with RE4 and RE5.

They were absolutely anything but horror games wich I expected 'em to be.

I don't have any problems with the gameplay itself, it was rather ok but for frick shake, the linearity and mass of infected people just made 'em a shooting gallery instead of a horror game.

Not to mention their AI was just horrible. First they navigate through the scenery and when they get like 8-10 running steps away, they start walking. Yeah Capcom, truly scary.

This generation has brought the concept of DLC to consoles. The major thing is that it's usually hyped and everyone thinks it's going to be great but in the end it's always a major disapointment. I can't think of one DLC add on I've played that I really liked. Most of it feels like a waste of time and money.

I borrowed and finished a friends copy of 5, so I'll probably be picking up the gold edition on disc. Having said that, a mansion without zombies is unacceptable.

Worth a 5$ download? Ehh... It's hard to say. They sell unpolished, shorter down loadable games for more. But again, no zombies....

The update wasn't really that good but I loved the classic game feel it had, and it did make some minor improvements to the Mercenaries mode. Im sure when the next DLC update is out, it'll most likely be cheaper to get a copy of RE5 and get the DLCs than it would be to buy that gold edition they're coming out with... well maybe, depends on what they price it at.

I actually rather enjoyed Lost in Nightmares, however that probably had a lot to do with the fact that my favorite Resident Evil game is the remake on the Gamecube.

I do agree that there should have been more enemy types other than Mr. Hunchback "I'm evil hook man" or whatever the hell those were. Those got old, and am I the only one who noticed that the Hunchback's animations are the same as the Executioner from the main game?

It's also short, but I didn't find it too disappointing.

Thanks for the update, Goose. You know, while the gameplay was not all that bad in RE5, I do have to say that the story felt like it was missing something. Now, that this expansion came out with nothing new added to make it worthwhile, then that is not going to make me happy. I've said it before, but the game is more focused on eye-candy than story.

Anyway, good review you have there, and I'm sorry about your breakup with Capcom. You probably defeated Sheng Long for them to listen to you. XD

The only RE game I have ever played is Code Veronica on Dreamcast. I rented it and then played it with the walk through guide because I could not figure the game out on my own. I loved it when the dogs would start attacking you and would kill you. When the screen faded to black it sounded like they were doing more then just eating her body, and I thought that 10 years ago when I was 18. So there. I got stuck and then never replayed it so I would have ammo on that boss.
