Yes this totally has the "Painkiller" sound to it but you can't deny that the guitar work of Tipton and Downing is far more superior to the guitar work of this band.

Owens got it because at the time Scheepers not only sounded like but also looked like Halford, Owens wasn't as obvious. That and the fact that Scheepers was already a well respected member of the Pro Metal community and no fool about the music business which means JP would not have the same level of control over him like Owens who was simply a hick from the sticks. Easy decision.

He would have cost Priest much more money for the job, and he would have demanded a more prominent role in decision making which I'm sure they didn't want. I have heard recently that money ultimately played the biggest role, which is no surprise.

This song really KICKS ASS! Thx for posting! IMO Primal Fear Actually does many kind of metal. They have lots of power metal style tracks (e.g. Riding the Eagle on the latest album), but also some great tracks that are more like hard rock (like "Killbound" or "Higher power"). And then there is some kickass Heavy metal too, (e.g. this song, Blood in your hands, Fear, etc." I think Ralf's voice with that rasp is heavier than most of the Power metal singers. It's difficult to categorisize the band

Yes Primal Fear are indeed a Power Metal band. The reason they may not sound like alot of other new generation Power Metal bands is because they play old school style PM, which is faster and more aggressive than a lot of the newer stuff.

He sings quite well and his voice has become very good over the years, when you compare it to his times in Gamma Ray. But there are singer who are better than him. I think the best singer om earth is (or was, due to exsessive drug and alcohol abuse) : Phil Anselmo of the band Pantera (which does not exist anymore :( ) and now Down.

But anyway, I respect Ralf, very similar to Rob Halford.
