the history of this district??

long story short - they started the construction about 20 years ago and ran out of money (i suppose). so the place was abandoned for two decades until few years ago the city officials decided to finish it (with a modern design style). the video is from 2007, now the place is closed to trespassers and there are only few vacant buildings left.

@jgurbisz - knowing the speed at wich the converting/restoring process runs now, I'm sure those buildings will stay here for a while

@urbanlincs - i have to disappoint you, all thats left from once a whole district are about 5 buildings, including the one we were in. In the background at the beginning of the vid you can see a fully converted, occupied building (the one on the right of the structure we were visiting, it has a sloping roof shape)

This place is pretty cool, good video and song. Its better to hear that city officials converted the vacant structure rather than tore it down.
