for those of you saying that the saturn was a fake test your seriously mistaken.

If you look at the cables under the front bumper you see them jolt after the impact.

Also if you watch the height at which the saturn enters, it is higher than when it leaves and then bounces up to the n ormal height

watch it again closely

trust me the IIHS ran this test and they just test for Insurance rates on car crashes they dont "fake" their tests

GM does own German brand Opel. They are trying to get rid of it though. Saturn Aura is just an American translation of Opel Vectra. There are some minor changes in the rear end and interior

actually you two are wrong, this car belong the the "GM Epsilon" platform family, which as it sates in the name is....GM. This platform wasn't taken from any country, it is a complete redesign of the old N and GM2900. This means that GM made the platform, then put it to use in a bunch of subdivisions. GM Europe wasn't given charge of Epsilon till 2005, after it had already been developed. Future decisions in reference to Epsilon will be "German" but really GM.

i think your wrong buddy because GM dosnt own Opel. Opel is a stand alone car company and they had this design (Platform) before GM ever took this design. like i said all GM did was slap a Saturn Badge and called it a Aura. the saturn has the same design specs as the Opel Astra. they also did the same with the Saturn Astra hatchback also was an Opel Astra Hatchback. GM has nothing to do with Opel.

you're actually seriously mistaking. GM owns Opel, Opel is a subsidiary of GM. You're also wrong about the Astra/Aura correlation. This Aura is on the "GM Epsilon Platform", which is shared with Fiat Croma Mk2, Cadillac BLS, Chevrolet Malibu, Opel Signum, and Saab 9-3 Mk2. I don't know where you got your information but you should do more research on a subject before you call someone out. Maybe you should read my well written comment that you responded to, again. The SATURN ASTRA is the Opel ASTRA moron. The Aura is similar to the Opel Vectra, but based on the modified G6/Malibu platform the US uses.

strange test. The tires stop at the same location but since the G6 has a longer nose it suffers more damage while the cable pulls the saturn back reducing the damage. If you put in a car with no nose it wouldn't crash at all so it's kind of a stupid way to setup a test

The G6 is made in Lake Orion, Michigan along with half of the Malibu's and the other half of Malibu's and Saturn Aura's are made in Kansas City Kansas

Saturn was rewound you can see it if you look closly! The damage just goes away and there is a cable in the same position as before it hit.,

nah dude, it's not rewound. You can clearly see the "rebound" from the hit. The energy from the crash has to go somewhere and in this cars you see it travel through the car on bounce back-this wouldn't be see if it was simply...rewound.
