This is very beautifully sung and a lovely melody. Bartoli is a gifted Mozart singer. She's sung Susana and Cherubino in Figaro to great acclaim. She's also sung the Countess' big aria Dove Sono, quite gorgeously. I wish however that this aria was kept in the opera. Figaro is Mozart's longest opera at almost 4 hours, so it makes sense that modern revisions have cut various arias such as this one - but what a beautiful aria!
Eccezionale.
You're welcome. I started providing the translator's name on my videos last year and I update the descriptions of my old videos when I find time. I'll post the name of the translator as soon as I find out. It was, I believe, from the DVD booklet of Bartoli in Italy. I'll check it tomorrow to see if the translator was credited there.
Oh gosh! I finally found the lyrics for the second verse! I learnt it with only the first verse in the score, and didn't even know about the second until I heard some recordings of the piece. Thank you so much!
I'm singing this in my voice class right now, and I am a little bit afraid, if I'm good enough, but on the other hand I love it so much that I think it will probably be better than singing something easier that I don't like... Mozart is simply incredible.
I've never seen, heard or sung the second half of this aria. I did this in the first year of my Bachelor degree and am revisiting it now in my Masters. I will certainly have to ask my prof about it!
Thanks for posting this including the translation. I sang it for my recital and the translation really helped. This is the best performance I've heard so far.
tedesco (Kinder Garten Musik)Un (Enfan prodige)
This is so interesting, I didn't know this existed. I can't imagine this actually being in LNDF. What did he write instead of Giunse alfin? Do you have that one?
This music makes me giddy -- I gallivant around and kiss random people while plucking flowers.

Oh, I really like this!! :D It's very beautiful, but Mozart was a genius. Bartoli sings it also very very good.
I'll sing it myself next time. I hope I'll do it well...^^

I love her soft voice! No "sharp" endings and high notes!
I especially like the way she sings the "non sempre" when she hits the G! It sounds like a bird singing!

Thanks for partitioning lyrics and notes according to what is sung at that particular moment. Good for practice!
Btw: Which translation?

one of the best mezzos nowadays and singing one of mozart´s most pretty arias, long live mozart

I find this 'simple light' aria as one of the most difficult to perform (as Mozart's arias in general). Cecilia Bartoli is doing it perfectly! Brava!
Thanks for uploading and the great info.

Mozart a mio gusto soppravalutato,

In place of "Giunse alfin-Deh Vieni" he wrote the concert aria "Al desio di chi t'adora"(K. 577). I think I have that one, I will check it.
