I take what you are saying as this example: I'm working a job and not doing ANY work, but I demand my paycheck right away. Wouldn't that be selfish and demanding of something you didn't deserve? Maybe its a humble statement saying they don't want it for themselves, and God takes it humbly and blesses them anyway? Just think outside the box a little bit.

Dear People, I was so into this song, but I find it a pity that it does not correspond to the Word of God for us today. We cannot ask the Father to come down and meet us. It was an argument of the diciples asking Jesus to show us the Father and Jesus said if you see me, you see the Father.

Hi @TheCrazygurlhere. I know you mean well, but when the Bible talks about us being children of light and not darkness, it doesn't mean actual light. It means that we don't walk in sin (darkness) but we walk in righteousness (light). If darkness was bad, God wouldn't have made night, but He did (Genesis 1:5) The night can reveal knowledge about God (Psalm 19:2) Also, read Psalm 18:11, Psalm 97:2, and Psalm 104:20. Peace!
@TheCrazygurlhere You CAN praise God in the light, and you CAN also praise God in the dark, which is exactly the point of those verses I sent you - did you read them? All things associated with the dark are not evil. The Bible refers to Jesus as "the Light." Obviously, Jesus didn't glow everywhere He went, so He wasn't a literal light. When the Bible speaks about walking in darkness, it means that we're walking apart from the light of Jesus and not walking in His ways.

I don't know if Crazygurl is familiar with the reformation. Martin Luther used the songs of the Tavern to bring the Gospel to common people. The early Christians worshiped in catacombs; so I wonder the big deal about dark lights and those stuff. Most of what people mean about sound doctrine is all but their denominational slant. But read how the Hebrews worship and David's Messianic Psalms, they are not even heard of in denominations where worship is too conservatively below biblical standard.
Like a club? I think it is just a multi-faceted expression of praise, like our amazing God created; things interesting, colorful, beautiful, to be experienced by all our senses and used by all our creativity back to Him...If it distracts you, just close your eyes and listen to it all the way thru and see if it doesn't reach into your heart...God's incredible, intimate love...GOD IS LOVE. I wouldn't be surprised if you think the worship of Deluge band is like a club because you 'do know that clubs look like'. I guess that's where the problem comes. I never grew up in the kind of lifestyle so I don't find it anything resembling any club. They don't preach Christ in 'clubs', they don't raise hands in honor of Christ, they don't cry for Christ in desperation and nobody gets changed in clubs. How does a praise and worship come close to a club. I guess only with a guilty conscience.

The only way a church can really do this is if they're fundamentally sound. where they practice what they preach. if it's not sound...then it will dry up and blow away. so all of the smoke, lights, and dim sanctuary are just icing on the cake.
lots of the newer churches are like things because believe it or not the lights and darkness and concert feel makes the music more powerful because u feel more to you self so you can be as worshipful as you want w/o worrying about what people think plus this looks more like a actual concert at least to me lol

There is a certain anointing on this song. However, the confusing thing to me is that while the song says we don't want your blessings (i do tho), the heart behind the rest of the song seems to be all about blessings being poured out from heaven. I find it oddly conflicting then, that Deluge writes, We dont want your blessings when the rest of the song seems so eloquently express the opposite.
It seems to me that the song is a prayer asking for the presence of God and asking to be in His presence, to see Jesus, to receive a touch from God, to go before His throne. Yeah we could consider all these things blessings but I think it has more to do with God Himself and when he says we don't want your blessings he means material blessings in opposition to the blessing of having God!

@us601308 I think he is saying that the blessing is God Himself, not any other temporal blessing. It reminds me of Jesus' words, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you." Matt. 6:33

Hi @TheCrazygurlhere. I know you mean well, but when the Bible talks about us being children of light and not darkness, it doesn't mean actual light. It means that we don't walk in sin (darkness) but we walk in righteousness (light). If darkness was bad, God wouldn't have made night, but He did (Genesis 1:5) The night can reveal knowledge about God (Psalm 19:2) Also, read Psalm 18:11, Psalm 97:2, and Psalm 104:20. Peace!

@TheCrazygurlhere You CAN praise God in the light, and you CAN also praise God in the dark, which is exactly the point of those verses I sent you - did you read them? All things associated with the dark are not evil. The Bible refers to Jesus as "the Light." Obviously, Jesus didn't glow everywhere He went, so He wasn't a literal light. When the Bible speaks about walking in darkness, it means that we're walking apart from the light of Jesus and not walking in His ways.

I don't know if Crazygurl is familiar with the reformation. Martin Luther used the songs of the Tavern to bring the Gospel to common people. The early Christians worshiped in catacombs; so I wonder the big deal about dark lights and those stuff. Most of what people mean about sound doctrine is all but their denominational slant. But read how the Hebrews worship and David's Messianic Psalms, they are not even heard of in denominations where worship is too conservatively below biblical standard.

I think it is just a multi-faceted expression of praise, like our amazing God created; things interesting, colorful, beautiful, to be experienced by all our senses and used by all our creativity back to Him...If it distracts you, just close your eyes and listen to it all the way thru and see if it doesn't reach into your heart...God's incredible, intimate love...GOD IS LOVE. I wouldn't be surprised if you think the worship of Deluge band is like a club because you 'do know that clubs look like'. I guess that's where the problem comes. I never grew up in the kind of lifestyle so I don't find it anything resembling any club. They don't preach Christ in 'clubs', they don't raise hands in honor of Christ, they don't cry for Christ in desperation and nobody gets changed in clubs. How does a praise and worship come close to a club. I guess only with a guilty conscience.

@TheCrazygurlhere I can see how you would feel this way..but let's be honest...some would prefer church like this..some prefer it straight up (no special lighting, fog, just straight up word). Yes I know God doesn't need a gimmick..but with all the stuff the world offers today, we need to be ready to provide a different way to counter that offer. if the church looks like "a club" as you say then there might be a chance that others will come who normally wouldn't come.

@TheCrazygurlhere Now..let me be perfectly honest...unless the church is honestly fundamentally sound...teaches the bible all the way...there won't be much chance for growth. The only way a church can really do this is if they're fundamentally sound. where they practice what they preach. if it's not sound...then it will dry up and blow away. so all of the smoke, lights, and dim sanctuary are just icing on the cake.

lots of the newer churches are like things because believe it or not the lights and darkness and concert feel makes the music more powerful because u feel more to you self so you can be as worshipful as you want w/o worrying about what people think plus this looks more like a actual concert at least to me lol

There is a certain anointing on this song. However, the confusing thing to me is that while the song says we don't want your blessings (i do tho), the heart behind the rest of the song seems to be all about blessings being poured out from heaven. I find it oddly conflicting then, that Deluge writes, We dont want your blessings when the rest of the song seems so eloquently express the opposite.

It seems to me that the song is a prayer asking for the presence of God and asking to be in His presence, to see Jesus, to receive a touch from God, to go before His throne. Yeah we could consider all these things blessings but I think it has more to do with God Himself and when he says we don't want your blessings he means material blessings in opposition to the blessing of having God!
