My band were recording at Chem19 in Blantyre, probably back in March and Idlewild were there putting the finishing touches to their new album. It sounded VERY folk driven. I said to Roddy that I liked the old stuff. He looked like he wanted to kill me! I miss old Idlewild.
Idlewild have been going for over ten years and Woomble and jones are either in there late twentys or early thirties. Like everyone else at this age, they mature and grow, and with that so will there music. I love the old Idlewild too but do you expect them to play songs like this when they are in their 30s or 40s even? I dont think so. And they dont really want to either i think. They have matured and so should their fans along side them. Their new album is great, legends

@leicsbred Ah yes, just like anything good from Scotland is "British". When Andy Murray wins he is "British" and when he loses he is Scottish. Idlewild are by far the best SCOTTISH band ever in my opinion.
