They are both spin off's that improves some much needed aspects whilst removing some of the more important ones.

@Gewarty but if you play the older ones you will relise the difference. in the older ones you would grow the city from the zones rather than place each building and when you where finished you could still have fun raising taxes and cause RIOTS

I (and probably all real SC fans) find this the worst SimCity to date. It's just too easy. Tilted Mill screwed too much with the original SC gameplay and removed virtually all micromanagement and other typical SC features.

Maxis should have finished Spore first and then started on a REAL and worthy SimCity 5.

to save this game ea needs to quickly release an expansion pack which also allows for factors consisted in the earleier sim cities eg traffic congestion, desirability etc etc working along side these new energy's to place a greater challenge and gamers dream

I got this game a while ago... Sure I enjoy it, but if I still prefer, I don't know, EVERY OTHER SimCity game to this one. EA oversimplified this game so much that it's now easy enough for your mum. Sorry EA, but SimCity Societies = FAIL.
