I owned this album as a teenager and listened & studied it like crazy. My favorite JR trio album was Jimmy Raney Live in Tokyo - pretty much wore than one down. Thanks for posting, brings back memories.
My favorite JR solo! My favorite version of this great Jimmy Van Heusen classic! Superb sound - probably the most melodic and beautiful jazz guitarist, but swings the hell out of it and builds his long solo phrasing so damn well like no other, taking the song to far heights with such a sense of urgency and passion in places. Great photo on the cover of that album - The Influence - that captures this pure musician. What a master. And Sam Jones is geat, too! Thanks for posting!
