Ah, what might have been. Navy and QB Roger Staubach in 1963. Love the old highlights; especially seeing the obsolescent thigh/hip pads that no self-respecting speedster would be caught dead in in the modern game.

the sad part about the 71 cotton bowl was Texas as rewarded the title before the game despite losing to notre dame 24-11 Ohio st was also given part of the title as well as Nebraska all three teams had a lose yet Toledo university finshed undefeated and was not crowned

1970 Cotton Bowl was Notre Dame's first post season game in many, many years. They played a great game against number 1 Texas but just fell short. The next year revenge was sweet as The Irish beat the undefeated Longhorns who were again number one. Joe Theismann ran and thru the "Horns" to death!
