I must edit a previous statement..i was at a show at My Father's Place in 1979 were BOC showcased The Mirror's Album...This show from 1983, in my opinion, is when Rick Downey, replacement for Albert Bouchard(no one can replace him) became one with Joe and provide a percussion that at moments remind one of Albert...magical gig..
The greatness of the song itself, the fact that they'd never played it before and the distant, dated audio track render this historic, and epic in the extreme.
One of my favorite BOC songs. Hell, one of my favorite songs, period! I don't think I've seen them play this one live but I did get to see another favorite off of Spectres at a club show once: "The Golden Age Of Leather."
Didnt get to go to this show.Eppy's Place and Mirrors was showcased. Great show! Next night it was the Bottom Line in Manhattan, which saw Ted Nugent guest on Roadhouse Blues. This version of I Love The Night might be the best Rick Downey played drums. Wonderfully mystic, dark, comfortable.....eternal..
This is my rendition of that altered verse, it's what i could make out.. let me know what you think of what i have!
"I love the night. up in the air, cool and clear so free, its the only way to be. i love the night. once hidden wonders now are vague to see, they were pointed out to me."
@HiddenTruth666 I hear a couple of words differently. Here's what it sounds like to me: "I love the night. Out in the air, cool and clear, it's free. Its the only way to be. I love the night. Once hidden wonders now are there to see. They were pointed out to me."
I never knew they performed this live. Next to Death Valley NIghts, one of my ultimate fav's off of Spectres. Thank you for giving us BÖC fans a true gem in live performances.
Probably my favorite song off Spectres. Something about cruising around with the windows down in the summer night by yourself listening to this tune. Reminds me of my youth.
made sure the DJ played this song at my wedding

Why the heck didn't they include the full lyrics in the studio version?
Anyway, BÖC rocks.
Does someone have the lyrics of the last verse?

I seen them play this about five years ago. I forgot they had done this at the time. So good. Great band. Still sound as good today as yesteryear.

Only 3,080 views? I'm responsible for at least 1000 of them. :-)

Nice - I saw them in Arkansas in 83 and they played a long, stretched out version of this song, beautiful, like this one.
