Even if other countries did have a choice, you have to remember its not a decision if a vehicle can be parachuted out. Its the physics that makes it possible or decided, not choice! I can't imagine the US Airborne Division allowing Abrams to be parachuted out, you'll be insane to parachute a 30-40 million dollar tank out of a plane, that's complete stupidity!

It`s not like Russia just made up that flag after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It has deep roots in russian history of governmental symbolism, including imperial times (before October Revolution). Not surprising to see that colour combo on soviet parachute.

Retro-rockets mean less cushioning material under the BMD; USAF rejected any kind of pyro in U.S. Airborne methods so we jump and drop a LOT of honeycomb and plywood crap that is expensive and clutters the drop zone from quickly turning into an assault landing zone.
