I was looking for an app that would do a D3. It was beyond my expectation to see it on a D6 (11-22-33) expecting it on a unnumbered with question marks. this app will work for Shadowrun. Shadowrun requires a large quantity of D6. Caping out at about 40. It also requires counting how many dice land on what. this app does a nice job of keeping track of that. Tho There are other apps that are made for shadowrun this one will work and looks better.
@brennjames206 Thanks! I'm glad that the d3 worked out for you. You can also use the d3 as fudge dice (-1, -1, 0, 0, 1, 1) by toggling the option in settings, which I've found handy for a FATE system campaign that I'm in now.
I think your app is awesome! But many people like me play games who need personalized dices like memoir 44, heroscape or battlelore. Do you have planned an update to custom this kind of dices?
Also I play several games that use d6 dices but with different values (i.e.: 1,1,2,2,3,3 or 1,2,2,2,3,3) Are you planning the possibility to assign values to each side?
@pinchoak As a matter of fact, I have thought about something along those lines for a long time. It's a little hard to find time to work on Mach Dice now that I have a baby (in addition to my regular full time job) but I do hope to allow for some sort of customization in the next version.
As for custom values, that's a bit trickier because it would make it easy to make cheating dice (like: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6). For a d20, it'd be nearly impossible to detect. But I've got some ideas.
@joseno11 MotionX dice is indeed good at rolling up to six 6-sided dice. But what if you're cornered by an Eye of the Beholder and forced to make a d20 saving throw?! Or faced with a batallion of angry orcs who demand 30d6?! Well then, my friend, you might wish you had bought Mach Dice. Also, Mach Dice has a virtual 3D display.
You can roll a d100 and it'll give you a proper result from 1-100 but the graphical representation is an icosahedron (20-sider) with "?" on all sides.
Yup, you can roll any dice (up to size d100) and the ones that aren't standard (d2, d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20) are represented by icosahedrons with "?" on them. So you can even roll things like "3d7".
Thanks for all the nice comments! I don't have any plans to port it to any other devices as I barely have time to develop for just the iPhone as it is. But it also works for the iPod Touch, so that's another option.
brilliant additions in 2.0!

Nobody ever really *needs* a dice app, but it is fun to have and show off to friends.

Does the app allow to use D100?

Ok thank you. I'm going to buy it. That's just what I needed.
One more question:
So if I understand you can roll any dice, but only the ones that are mentioned on ITunes are represented?
cob666fuk 2 years ago
Yup, you can roll any dice (up to size d100) and the ones that aren't standard (d2, d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20) are represented by icosahedrons with "?" on them. So you can even roll things like "3d7".
Enjoy!

All the iPhones and iPod Touches have the accelerometer. So this app works on all of those.
MachWerx 2 years ago
does the original iphone house the accelerometer? or is it just the 3G version?
