However, nothing is known about a rhythm.

It is because they conflict with the rule of the Western music which they know unlike a scale or a musical instrument and a deep understanding is required.

For example, Sakura Sakura is traditional music.

However, a rhythm is simple because of children-oriented music.

Since the rhythm is simple, I think that this music is barely known by Japanese people.

Please ask Japanese people about the musical composition of traditional Japan.

98% of people cannot mention only two or three names.

The majority of Japanese people don't know traditional Japanese music, just like the majority of Westerners don't understand the full extent of Western classics. Most Japanese don't even know how to wear kimono. (I mean no disrespect, just pointing out that just because one is a Japanese don't instantly make one knowledgeable in traditional Japanese aspects).

The same goes with Japanese people. Most of them "know" but not all of them "understand".
