I thought the Elf was the latest greatest from Ainol, but after ordering my Elf, which I haven’t got yet, I realised the Aurora has better screen and curved case. Is there much difference?
the Ainol Novo 7 Advance listed the speed at 1.2 ghz why didn't they keep the cpu speed at 1.2ghz ?? ..tho I think the data sheet on the merimobiles webpage says it really ran at 1ghz
@heardcountybrave It's a "many core" which means it's the same as a single core notebook CPU which integrated graphics. Right now I really can't recommend a single core Android device. Either go with something like a Kindle Fire or Advent Vega or similar if you want a budget Android tablet because single core devices don't have enough power to run ICS properly.
@zembryoz Sorry but you are talking complete nonsence..The Elf has a 1.2ghz processor and 1gb of ram..I have one and it runs ICS perfectly well..Even the Mips paladin runs ICS with ease..You have obviously never used pne of these tablets or a generally talking out of your backside

These are budget products with the focus in the wrong place as far as I'm concerned. I own a Novo 8 Advanced too. I like Ainol but a single core system can't make use of most of the benefits which ICS offers over Gingerbread and definitely can't use Honeycomb at all. I'm happy enjoy your tablet but ICS is unstable on it for a reason.
@d15h03 sounds like your tablet has had a script installed to run android market.When i first got mine it said NOVO7ELF but after installing the script it is described as onda mid..These tablets do not ship with market installed see
I see you have a Youtube icon on your tablet, and I see that you are running 4.01 on this demo, how come my tablet has no Youtube app? They should all be the same right.
Can I install bluetooth dongle in this tablet to enable bluetooth in this tablet? Also how do you compare this to samsung galaxy tab 7 inch out of 10? Please answer me ASAP! :)
@mrEbraheem Sorry, I have no idea if a bluetooth dongle will work, please see my other comments, I answered that not even 2 hours ago ;-) I've never seen the Samsung Galaxy tab in "real life" but I am pretty confident that it's better than Elf ;-)
@mrEbraheem There are people who've modded Gingerbread on Ainol tablets to support bluetooth dongles. My Novo 8 has bluetooth support in that fashion.

can you review the front facing camera as a web cam? no one seems to see the value of the front facing cam and as this is 5mp i was wondering if you could post a video about it.
They are both almost the same. The onda uses the exact same cpu and gpu as the elf. There's several other chinese companies doing the same thing it's crazy. Mali-400 gpu has definitely proven itself to be very strong though so these tablets are pretty strong. Bout half the power of an ipad 2.
Thnx for the prompt reply have you tested one im holding myself back for the advanced 2 version but really getting tempted for the onda vi4016gb version people also have complains about batterylife of ONDA mentioning it to be just one hour and tht it requires
lot of chrge cycles to get 8hrs Backup.I need someone who has used it extensively

@sparkwilliam1 The Mali-400 GPU is definitely powerful enough to run most games smoothly (especially with Chainfire3D installed, which unfortunately isn't recommended on ICS and HC) just the increased resolution of these newer devices might actually affect the framerate quite severely in more complex games like GTA III. My Novo 8 Advanced has the same GPU and struggles on some games due to 1280x768 screen. Best you wait for proper benchmarks and ICS 4.0.3 proper.
I think, that it's laggy because the firmware is not stable yet - they were hurrying because of CES. I hope it will be better after first update... specs aren't bad.
Am I the only one who feels that the UI performance is quite laggy on Elf ? I'm considering to buy Aurora and just sold my Novo 7 Advanced, which was not laggy at all with half the ram of these machines. That worries me now. :))
My Herotab C8 run ICS better than this. What cpu/GPU does it have?

@zembryoz Yea, the Nook Tablet has a Dual Core Processor with 1GB of RAM, whereas the Nook Color only has a 800Mhz Processor with 512MB of RAM.

Has any one tested the Onda VI40 Elite for graphivcs heavy games or any FPShooter or Car racing Games
i have used Novo 7 advanced so i know what should be the performance.
I want to Buy one choice is between Aurora/advanced2 and Onda VI40 Elite.
what you say and what what would you suggest

Whichever gives smoothest graphics
All promos have not shown games and i find Onda VI40 Elite performance doubtful
