a year ago I had a massive colitis attack (you all know the symptoms), had to stay in the hospital for 4 days and was on a heavy dose of cortisone at first. After a couple of months I regained the weight I lost (14 kgs), but the diagnosis wasn't confirmed until last december. I have been on pentasa for a while, I started taking imurel and I take care of my diet. I feel a lot better, I haven't had diarrhea since last march and I'm quite positive about the future. I do have to take blood tests
@JamieeLauren i was on the imuran ( dont know if it is spelled write but it is the common name for azothipreme or what ever) i also take pentaza(dont know the spelling either) it didnt work for me but it works for a lot of people. I just go my first dose of remicade the day i posted this. I have severe chrons and i currently have a pic line in and antibiotics every six hours btw good like ( sorry it is long)
please watch my video abotu my crohns disease and share it i will so the same for yours cause there has to be more awareness about the disease i feel like its brushed under the rug and racked up as stomach problems when theres so much more to it
Babe youre gorgg and strong, have you guys tried azathioprine? Its some sort of immune system drug, a bit like a cancer drug along with pentasa granules 1g a day and 125mg of aza it works a treat xxxxxxxx
I'm 18 years old. My name is Alexander Pannell and last week I had surgery on my crohns disease. I have had this disease ever since 7th grade. It sucks ass but there is always hope! They removed 10 inches of my small intestine where the crohns was. I'm feeling better than ever!! Just had my first banana yesterday!! It was a dream come true!:) add me on Facebook. Or email me at xpatsxfanx007@aim.com the pictures they took were freaking crazy!
No cure my ass! Crohn's is beatable. Do yourself a big favour, seek alternative help and throw away the drugs. As long as you are part of the hospital system and loaded on dirty toxins you will never get on top of it.
ok then. what do u suggest. let me guess some herbal remedy thats based on pseudo science or an homeopathic source perhaps. there are scientists working hard to develop drugs to try and benefit people in their everyday lives. i have crohns and ive tried that bullshit ur putting forth. let me tell you it doesnt work.
I didnt mention herbal remedies, pseudo science or homeopathy. Food can cure anything. I was in a desperate situation with Crohn's and perianal abscesses and over 3 years I had tried every drug recommended including Infliximab (Remicade). After meeting with a naturapath and following her diet strictly I noticed big changes to my health within 3 weeks. Now 18 months later I wouldnt know I have the disease. I had to be disciplined but it has paid off. Good luck to you.
@qotsa67 I've tried all the alternative therapies. I tried the SCD diet too and all it did was make me feel worse than with the prescribed medication. The only thing that keeps my life liveable is the mix of anti-inflammatories and Humira, as well as sticking to bland diet that consists of rice/pasta/potatoes, chicken, eggs, and green veg. I've cut out caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, sugary and fatty foods. and even like this I still have cramps, and diarrhea.
@paintedpilgrim Sorry to hear you are having those problems. Diarrhea and cramps is the body telling you that you dont have the diet right yet. I have learnt a lot about food over the last few years and I can tell you that you need to to stick to foods that are easy to digest. Rice and certainly pasta are a no go as they are hard to digest, and I wouldnt be eating green vegetables yet either as they are gassy foods that cause that crampy bloated feeling.
@qotsa67 I've learnt alot about food too, those are the foods that give me the least trouble, and for me seem to be easily digestable, sticking to my 'diet' as enabled me to live a life of sorts and able to have a life around the toilet trips. All the SCD diet did for me was hospitalise me for 2 weeks, as it made me so dehydrated from the diarrhea and weight loss......so much so I tell my other Crohns and UC friends to try it at their own risk.
you're beautful and you have a good outlook. Keep your positive attitude and live your life to the fullest. I have 3 kids, I'm 43 and I've had this since I'm 16. I know how much it sux. I've had 2 surgeries and heading for a third next month. But I dance, ride a motorcycle, zip line, swim....I live....I have to...we all just have to live our lives to the fullest while we can :)

AMAZING! I just got the news last week from my VA hospital but Iv had symptoms sense I was 7, I'm 28 now. (iv been waiting for this almost my hole life, its a little bittersweet). Even after 21 years of wondering I'm more scared then ever because of the diagnosis. Watching videos like yours helps a lot and its inspiring me to think of making a video of my own... maybe to help explain the disease to family and friends and maybe to inspire others just as u have inspired me... Thank You
