  • how much cost?

  • bullet was a bit to the right of where it was suppose to be.

  • THAT!... Was intense.

  • Smooth twist is not new. Some old CZ firearm handhuns have smooth twist instead of standard rifling.

  • It's an interesting idea and makes a lot of sense on one level, but I'd like to see two types bench tested - using the exact same rifles, but one with traditional length rifling and one with this partial system and see how they compare. I really don't see how it can give better wind resistance, I mean it either imparts a full spin or it doesn't - if it does, then it seems a really good idea.

  • whould this do the same to a rifle?

  • @buzzhead19941 no it would not work on a powder burner... they require a tight barrel to build pressure... the tighter the barrel for a given amount of powder will give higher velocities

  • @bzhfbz what about something like a m14 or along thoes lines?

  • @buzzhead19941 all fire arms... they all work the same... doesnt matter the colour or the type of action

  • what a load of bullshit.

  • @baca262

In what way is it bullshit?

  • @100021861 that rifling does nothing different than full length one and can only cause issues with some pellets. it's marketing gimmicks.

  • @baca262

Have you performed independent tests then? I'd love to see your results...

  • @baca262 It's not marketing bullshit. It's been proven on independent reviews that you can put 1000 pellets through these smooth twist barrels with no loss in accuracy. Traditionally rifled barrels require cleaning much more frequently due to fouling.

Your comment of "can only cause issues with some pellets" is the same vague, unsubstantiated BS you are crying about.

  • @TheAristotleQ Cleaning of airguns barrel is nonsense as it actually brings nothing to accuracy. This fact is well known in competition shooters world. Moreover, end rifling of the barrel is likely to behave like shaver for the pellet as it is forced to turn in a few centimeters although it has already reached its maximum speed. Progressive effect is always better.

  • @TheAristotleQ

This is already well known by people who reload firearms cartridges: bullet has to "seat" just at grooves starting point, otherwises it will bump against them...

  • "a said"? Lower case "i"? And you're asking me to learn how to read? Ha Ha! I'm sorry, I didn't realise that I was dealing with a "special" kid!

  • amazing

  • This sounds like a marketing scam. For a pellet to hit the rifling near the end of the barrel at that speed would cause damage to the pellet and there would be a loss of speed.

  • @powermugu fucking moron -.-.. these barrels are on the market for over an year now and they are one of the best in the world.. asshole

  • @196SHARPSHOOTER Best in the world? Your mother said the same about my cock, but what does she know? :) Maybe the barrels are the best in the world because a little sissy youtube user said that. Go back to masturbating in your sister's dirty underwear and leave weapons talk to men please :)

  • @powermugu a said one of the best, not the best.. learn how to read.. and i can say that you dont know a shit about weapons, especially about airguns ;)

  • Smooth announcer voice

  • I AM LEFT HANDED, DOES FX AIRGUNS MAKE A GUN FOR ME ?

  • @richardschneiderKS go to fxairgun(dot)com ( . instead of (dot) ) there you can read about the models. most is both handed

  • bom

  • make it smoother...

  • Yeah, we get what your video, but we're more inclined to read the ballistics on these new ideas where professing to be that much better. I know the FX has the twist at nearly the end of the barrel that is supposed to increase pellet coefficients. My question is, where's the comparison against all other standard barrels? I guess we're asking, where the proof?

    Best regards

  • It seems like trying to spin the bullet up that quickly at the end would tend to shear the pellet where it contacts the lands of the 'smooth rifling', unless the rifling is substantially more aggressive. The fact that they say it 'increases the ballistic coefficient' (aka aerodynamics) and show the funky striping tells me that the pellet is essentially forged into a new shape by the lands.

Oh well, it's worth experimenting with...especially on someone else's dime.

  • SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET

  • IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE

  • Edgun Motodor fucks them in all holes..... hits head size balloon at 275 metes !!!

  • before you make any more guns you should first work on your coustomer service skills because at the moment they suck.so why should I give my cash to a company that does not care about its coustomers

  • I checked a couple of definitions of BC and it turns out there are a lot of variables. Before i did more reading i thought the BC was the ratio of length to width. If it shoots better then its a better design. Maybe my wife will get me one to play with.

  • All well and good but how can an FX gun owner get a smoothtwist replacement barrel?

  • @Rimmel1966

Don't know what country you are in but a new barrel with fitting if available would.

Probably cost near as much as a new Rifle

  • Combination bores are nothing new they date from last century apparantly 2 or 4 groove rifling makes almost no difference to accuracy in a normal rifle either. From what I have gleaned from manufacturers websites the weight & of a design pellet along with their low velocity and short shooting distances

Renders the use of rifling almost non essential. The BC would increase due to spin but only at longer distances for hunting etc

  • how does this increase the BC?

  • @cyberphan

BC should increase slightly due to initial higher velocity. Due to not being forced into rifling

And less deformation of the Slug head and skirt effecting drag after barrel exit

I would not be hoping for a massive increase though possibly a little extra accuracy at range

  • Interesting, I guess there would be less drag on the projectile on the unrifled section of the barrel.

  • epic!!

  • Wow! This is a interesting design Makes a lot of sense really gives to pellet the opportunity to pick up speed. I find good power is a must for accuracy so the flight is flat & flight path not interrupted much by wind & other obstacles such as leaves, rain & branches. Seems with the right tools someone could try making this barrel at home for something like a 2240. Maybe using a chocked barrel then bore out at but the last 2 inches or so a little wider.

  • What a Beauty!!,I think I want one for Christmas,But I don't' like the idea of having to lug around a scuba tank., and the power wouldn't be that much more than my Benjamin Trail, or Crosman TAC1 Extreme, Both are in the 8-900fps range. But I do like the New Barrel innovation,,Hopefully the idea will catch on.

  • Amazing video! I want one! lol

  • excellent video :)
