Mike was probably happy those dudes ripped off his music for the Exorcist. Probably made him more famous in the U.S. than he ever would have been. They don't know about decent music over there. Can you believe he was only 19 when he made that album? It's simply amazing.
i think its absolutely amazing how people create music from this perspective and then its recreated for an fan base that is there to listen even though its ideally no more than an score.
@SonGoku87 warning, I am going to rant. If you knew the first thing about producing music on a computer, you would know that 90% of the time, the person is playing a keyboard MIDI interface, or using an MPC for drum pads, or using outboard synthesizers to write the music. Mixing inside the computer is done via an electronic version of a studio mixer. My point is, people still make the music with their bare hands just like these talented individuals on the screen. /rant
Man, i've just watched Jean Michel Jarre playing Magnetic Fields from the Docklands on another channel and it looks like Billy Connolly is on stage with him. Thought i'd check out some classic Mike Oldfield and i find that Leo Sayer is up there with him playing some bongos. What is the world coming to?? ;o)
1981 ... times of young pioneers, experimentation, composition ! Jarre, Oldfield, Vangelis, Kitaro ... even the Genesis, why not! A lot of good music.
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
I find it really cool that the bassist is using a pick (which I don't normally condone), and Oldfield appears to be using even his pinky to pluck at times. Watching his right hand is so strange.
@alevans51 Yeah, all of the historians and theater & music experts throuhg the decades were all wrong because they forgot to check with an Internet loser for her opinion. I wonder what it's like to have no life at all and simply go aroudn YouTube looking for obvious highly acclaimed pieces and just say the same thing over and over against them? Does it get you the attention your mommy never gave you?

@yngward i read his autobiography. apparently, he was shitting himself a lot of the time. his mum was mental, literally. then he started smoking lots of green and tried some acid and developed the 'mentalism' disease himself. this is the result
@mugwamp4 schizophrenia I guess, I can't remember if he mentioned the specific problem he or his mum had. his mum was routinely being taken to hospital though, and taking drugs for something
