@EnglishLessons4U Hi I admire your simple teaching method and it really helps me! now I can study just watching your videos and no need to go review centres for my ielts! I wish you could teach us more to improve my english, I need it badly to have a good score...thanks a lot! I can't resist to comment because I really amazed to your simple and it seems very useful videos! a million thumbs up to you guys!
I have always lived in England, and even I didn't know that you only said 'play' if the sport involved a ball :o It always just came naturally, I didn't notice that
I showed one of your videos to my mom because she's been trying to learn English and after watching it she said it was great. She then asked me to play more of your videos. :)
hahahaha WAHAHAHAHA im lucky i got the right CHANNEL thanks very very much, i learned those have, has, had, verb+. now im using it with easy tnx. please continue sharing your knowledge bec you have a way to effectively share it.
@eslbeats i'm from colombia, my native languague is spanish, but i can undertand that on this video we need to take care with the concepts - for example - what means sport, because the all activities dosen't call sport. However, thanks teacher...
if we are talking about the sport, we can say "play"....
It's awesome. Just a small comment: probably it is better just to say that "play" is used with sport games, like football or basketball instead of associating it with balls. Otherwise how would you explain "playing ice hockey"?
Thanks god. Finally i found these channel.

Hi Ronnie, can you please give me your email id so that i could ask something if required.

But how come you say go golfing if there is a ball in golfing?
elvernene02 2 years ago
@elvernene02
So there are basic three rules here:
If ball sport = "I can play football.", "I can play golf."
If sport is a verb (action word) then no "play" = "I can swim.", "I can golf."
If no ball and not a verb then do = "I can do yoga", "I can do aerobics."
You CAN say "I can golf" and "I can play golf". This is because golf is played with a ball (like baseball) AND it is a verb (like swim).
Hope that helps!

@zokir20 Her explanation is the best way to explain it. It doesn't work all the time, but this is the best "rule(s)" to follow.
Although I understand what you mean above. I think the idea of a puck is similar to the idea of a ball.
