I wouldnt like it to have all my SA and BA Comics CGCed because , i love the smell , the feeling to hold them in my hand and everything else on them :)
just beautiful books man, you get a chance check out mine and let me know what you think (there defendly not your books though)...I can only dream of owning that Hulk#1 :S
I am glad the first issue they made Hulk gray, because I come from a long line of green people and my ancestors would have been highly offended... lol Nah, but in all seriousness, awesome book man =)
Q: I'm not sure how familiar y'all are w/ Hulk comics from the late 1970's, but I've searched my butt off w/out any luck, for a particular Hulk comic I has a a child. I'm not exactly sure but it must have been around '78-80'. In the issue The Hulk was was like 15ft tall & fighting the US army which used sleeping gas to KO him. I remember seeing like 20 soldiers carrying the Hulks sleeping body. I thought it might have been in the short lived "The Rampaging Hulk" series, but it's not. Help?
Dude, I love the x-men comic book. I'm still looking for a #1. I'm only about 80 books away from having a full run, 1-500-and-something. Check out my channel.
Hey Robert - (awesome name by the way!) Love your style of video dude! Wish i could put the same level of enthusiasm into narrating my vids. Still, would really appreciate it if you could take a look at my (modest!) silver age collection in the vids on my channel. Keep posting vids please!
@tstarkisironman Thanks. The CGC bag opens easy. Its just to proctect the cgc case from scratches. I have never read any of these silver age comics that I own. But I have read them all at Marvel.com through a subscription membership.
Im not saying to buy a crap load of high grade comics, Im just saying if your end game is profit you may want to look at trade your collection now, which are some great books! And look into a X-men 1 or Amazing Spiderman 1. In a 8.0 or 8.5, if you hold on to that for about 30 yrs you will see a damn good R.O.I.
The funny thing is when collecting rare silver age or golden age key issues you can dump all your money into it. As you said if someone does find 6 Xmen #1 in a 9.6 or a 9.8 (very unlikey), the prices for those books will in fact sky rocket. But the 8.5 will remain the same price. They would have to find like 600 X-men in a 9.6 or 9.8 to affect the market. I have been collecting Silver age for over 20 years, the fact is this books will remain rare in high condition bc who they were marketed to.
Not being a dick but your books are not going to help you retire when your older.
You will have to trade up for better grades. Example X-men #1 3.0 ten years ago overstreet list price was $413 for a 2.0 or Good. Now it is listed for $815 for a 2.0 or Good. Back in 1983 it was listed for $45. So there was an increase of $770 over 27 years. If your looking to retire you should take all you books and trade them in for a high grade key issue.
@jdcinc21 I disagree. You have to disversify your collection dumping all your money into one book is foolish. Say someone dumped all their money into an Xmen #1 CGC 8.5. What would happen if somebody found 6 CGC 9.6 to 9.8's in their garage. That would surely plummet prices for that book. Always diversify. Plus I can't afford a bunch of high grade silver age comics or I would already have them in my collection. I'm a regular middle class guy not a millionaire.
@robbussum I was suggesting to your comment of selling them in the future and hoping to get a good return on them. Just bc you have a collection of key issues in low grade does not guarantee a high return. Its cool if you want to actually take them out of the slabs and actually read low grades, as they will not offer a high return. I am merely suggesting this as to reading your comment on recently collecting comics as stated by you.
@robbussum very well said! and honestly in some cases vg-fn books sell a lot better due to affordability. and honestly, im just as happy to get mid-grade key issues myself, i mean, i can see myself with a spidey#1` in 4.0 a lot more than i can see one in 8.0 and as a "collector" i would be just as excited! thx again!
@jdcinc21 It doesn't matter what they were back then, it is what the comic means to the guy. Look at Action Comics #1, Detective Comics #27 and Amazing Fantasy 15. The prices that overstreet has them at is way lower than what they sold for. They all sold over a million dollars by the way
I just purchased Amazing Fantasy #15 today off ebay. Its a SS CGC 6.5 auto graphed by Stan Lee. I will be posting the video in about ten days stay tuned once I receive it in about a week. It is the highest graded autograph copy in existense. The video will be called part 5 and I will do a better quality remake of 2,3, and 4 combined. Spread the word. This Amazing Fantasy #15 will be the highest graded copy on Youtube.
awawawa so want the x-men. t o s i want that too. i keeep lookin on ebay for a good price. every comic book lover needs the hulk. i love the new hulk stuff

Actually, the reason Hulk is now green is because grey ink costed too much.
Green was cheaper and looked relatively better.

@robbussum Heh, Well for someone that reads comic book about heroes and people with good morals and values you sure lack commitment huh?
sweet sweet irony.
But hey those are your decisions.
