Wish I had discovered this earlier. This year, I have been praying the Great Litany each weekday during Lent, on the advice of my Spiritual Director. I would have been richer if I had been praying along with this.
With one of the busiest holy weeks I can remember in years, I'm making it a point to pray this great litany from my 1928 BCP, as I won't have time to attend services as much as in the past.
This is a moving and timely liturgy for this time of year: Lent. So I came to your video by searching on "The Book of Common Prayer." I didn't realize how much time it takes to say this wonderful confession, and it wasn't until halfway through that I realized there were bells playing in the background as accent. Wonderful!
The voice saying the Litany is beautiful, so well done!
I sent this to some friends, who will appreciate it; one has been playing bells for many years.
Very beautiful. We did the Great Litany this past Sunday in church (I attend, and am a member of, St. Paul's Episcopal in Kennewick, WA), and we ended up saying it, rather than singing it. It sounds better sung, IMHO.
She does an Excellan t Job with this.

I agree it is lovely. At Lent I think the sung great Litany, which we also have in the Church of Sweden is a must.

The Cantor sings it with excellence. I really enjoyed listening :)

I play back this multiple times daily. Who is the officiant? She does a magnificent litany.
Please never take it down.

Anyone know where I can get a recording of those bells? I would like to use them in my home.

Thank you. The bells are being rung by choristers using a technique we call 'free ring.'

I love the Great Litany, at my church this year we said it, instead of chanting, but it is still gets you thinking.

Thank you for sharing this. We are using this as a guide for an upcoming requiem; using the Litany at the Time of Death.

Beautiful yes, but more beautiful still with the full litany of saints......

Yes, calling out for all of God's saints, and we do need them all, to intercede so that God will have mercy on us, seems very appropriate.
