@SaveOldCars yes! this is Hoop's car and he's the kind of character that is more of the keeper/collector than a buy & seller… and I don't think he'll take on the project of fixin' her up himself. I think for the most part those days are behind him. But he doesn't like to part with stuff. But then sometimes he'll surprise you… and I guess everyone does have their price. I still haven't seen him this spring, but I do know the car is still there
In case anyones interested, there is a 1957 Dodge Mayfair for sale on Kijiji, in Nova Scotia. It's supposed to be a barn find that was in the barn since 91. Looks more like an old resto. Most "Christine" looking non-Christine car I've seen. On another note, what are parts like out where you are for a 1958 Belvedere 4 door post?
@thisisunreal1 hmmmm, so far haven't see much for Belvederes... but we'll keep our eyes peeled! most Christine looking non-Christine car... that really sums it up! and thanks for posting the info on the Kijiji Mayfair.
@CORVAIRWILD when we get back to this car we'll see if we can nail down the year on it... but sure looks like it will be a '58... thanks for the input!
really good find but i think like soiouz i'ts a 58 because of the four headlight it's a new law to have four headlight in 1958 !!!! the previous model have only 2 !!! check my vids i ride mine!!!
@tempo8666 Okay, we better update the info on this video to a 1958 with a 313 motor. I guess we shouldn't have put that other (wrong) info on the video... :( ... but if folks read a little bit here they'll find out the facts from people that know! thanks for helping out
This car is not a 1955, though, it's a 1958 and the motor is a Canadian 313 cubic inches. I have a 1959 Dodge Mayfair, similar to this one. You can see it on my videos.
If this car here were for sale around here, I'd check it out for sure. I would seriously be interested in it. Have you picked it up? Do you know if the owner would sell?
@soiouz well hello! this is so great... what a beautiful, beautiful car you have... and the dash is so sweet (we didn't get a very good picture on this one here). thank you for the info, we like it when people can fill in any details. I will see Hooper at some point and find out the status of this car and let you know. (might be spring by then!) thanks for the kind words!
Note: anyone that would like to see a car like this cruising... go to soiouz's channel!!!!
Thanks a bunch! I'm a real fan of these cars, and this sedan '58 Mayfair you found is one I would seriously consider restoring! Let me know when you hear from your partner on the status of this one.
I think saving these cars from further decay, especially canadian models like this, is a duty!
@805ROADKING hi! no wonder Hooper loves that car so much... it is pretty cool... and how the heck do you have the time to watch videos? you are a very prolific vidiographer my friend... I enjoy the variety of stuff on your channel, it's cool
@JunkyardJunkeez Lol!! Thanks, I'm very selective about the videos I watch and you guys made the cut!!☺ You guys make great quality videos and it shows. I can appreciate the time, effort and money that goes into your stuff!! I love those forgotten treasures!!☺
SO NICE!... this car truely deserves a restoration. that car is in amazing shape in many respects!. you guys really hit it big with this one. I found a 57 Chrysler New Yorker which was similar to this, but In my opinion, its not as cool as its corporate cousins from dodge, plymouth, and Desoto. well i wish i could say i found a car like this, but that day is still ahead of me. anyway, lets hope for an early spring so we could resume regular car hunting. cheers
@badgerbuddy thanks! and you have a piles of great finds, your channel is a credit to that... i'll keep you posted on this car, and i can't agree more on the early spring!
You could probably save that car and restore it. That car would of looked nice brand new.
