you probably need the cannible perk to get him to teach you to drink the blood packs. that perk comes in a few levels after though. i dunno. maybe that's the reason. =)

I've found out why people gets the hunger. i was roaming around in the Dc ruins, when i saw a box near a car. there was a recording in the box. it said that people with hunger, where test subjects from the military base, Harold the tree comed from. Some scientist named Mike E. Edwards had found a Chemical that could be injected into people, so that they could live of only blood, if there were no more food left. they collected thousands of bloodpacks. but the hunger was un-controlable.

Somebody probably already pointed this out but not only did you miss the chance to get the bloodpack ability (and I got it with perfect good karma so it isn't karma sensitive), Vance will buy bloodpacks for 15 caps each.

Plus you can work out a deal with him where he and the Family will protect Arefu and everybody will be happy.

I had a course I was taking from Excelsior college. I had to be done with the course by 10:58 PM Central Standard Time on the 21st of December. I started listening to your recordings at 2 AM that morning, and finished the course making 100's on ALL Quiz's and an 88 for the final exam. I finished the entire course in a single day, watching eps 1-42 in the process. Thanks!

you may already know it by now, but you have to make a deal with vance about him protecting arefu in exchange for blood packs, then he'll teach you how to use them :)also, use a stealth boy, steal his key and then steal the Vampire's edge from his cabinet ^^

no i meant metal armor, power armor is much different. metal is all spikey and is worn by some dudes in paradise falls.

I already have some metal armor, but it adds -1 to AGL, and its only +4 DR higher than my combat armor. I got it for a rainy day.

Hematophage is a Fallout 3 perk. It cannot be taken on level-up, but can only be gained through the Blood Ties quest. * Requirements: Convince Vance to enter into a deal with the town of Arefu by passing a Speech check, a Medicine skill check, or an Intelligence check at the conclusion of the Blood Ties quest. Then return to Vance and ask to be shown the ways of the vampire.

no wait for every bloodpack he offers you caps i think. the negotation was actually part of the quest.

did you make an offer involvbing him and the aferu town? every bloodpack you give him he will offer help defend the town (choice i made) or something else.. i think thats the only way to get the perk

I have a boatload of Stimpaks, so the BloodPack thing isn't all that important. I'd rather just sell them to him... :/
