Some of you guy's comments reminds me of just how hard it must be to be Coppola. You've made what is arguably the best piece of cinema put to film and everything you do afterwards will be compared to that. You must be forgetting, this is Coppola, after all. Visionaries of his caliber sometimes don't make films for the masses, but for themselves. I read an interview of his where he talked about his struggles with his son's death, and how this relates to his grieving of it. Lighten up on the guy.

In which case his long standing hopes that video would free the little girl next door to make the next masterpiece without film's cruel prohibitive cost. Hopefully as the contrast ratio n light sensitivity difference is less each year ( technology promises to surpass film ) Less people will romanticize film. How much creativity has already starved when most can't afford a seat at that table? Film is evil.

It's nic that large names like Coppola, Rodriguez and Lucas pave a safe path with their reputations. Instead of playing it safe. Twixt was a good film, nothing to overboard. And this film isn't "the film" that's "the number one film in America." To be honest, the film is for individuals who are critical thinkers and are fans of both Edgar Allen Poe and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Coppola has stated that he plans on releasing the film on DVD after it's theatrical run in the UK this spring. I seen it at the Toronto film festival and I thought it was original though it dragged. Very riveting story, sadly this trailer though...

Anything that isn't mainstream and full of nudity, explosions, music from the top of the pop charts, and parties gets categorized as weird, lame, or boring. God forbid there's intelligent and quirky story with deep plot twists an dark character development. This looks like it will be a perfect alter ego film to the typical crap.
