What about propane powered bikes? Gas powered bikes would be good and have unlimited range virtually. SImilar to gas powered forklift trucks. It pisses me off that the government don't want unlicensed machines that use fuel in public. It seems they want people tied to the petrol pump game.
@210482fmj i'm 13 and have nver had to fill up, but with like 10% sales tax in cali, the government wants you to use the pump because every time you fill up they get what? $6-$7? and it all adds up. then you go into costco and buy some shit, and they get $30, and it all adds up. maybe 10 million dollars a month? from just that?
this is awesome!! this bike would be an awesome alternative for driving a car in the worst snowstorms. i used to ride to work with non studded winter tires, in deep morning snow effortlessly and efficiently but a 2wd bike with added weight to dig right down to the pavement WITH studded tires is like comparing a yugo to a subaru in the snow. how much for the whole bike??
if one of these costs 5 grand, and a ninja 250 costs 4, whats the point? ninga = 110 mph 0-60 in hi 4- low 5 seconds. this? cant even hit 60. and once you're doing 50 on a bicycle, you cant go offroad, in which case you'd want a 250, and if you do want to go offroad, you might aswell have a dirt bike, because you're just going to blow your bike into a million pieces as soon as you go off-road. so, the motor only needs to go 30 mph or so... because if a cop sees you with one, only 30 mph is legal
@machinegunboy98 This is exactly what I was thinking. I mean sure you can engineer a bike to use electric, but the costs start becoming excessive and it's really not legal to go on any road ways at that speed; unlike a motorcycle.
@madmonkey914 I disagree, I have cheap bontrager LT3 tires on my bike, and according to my speedometer, i have hit 40 mph. On a large paved hill. My tires are still ok.
Can we get this type of bike in the U.K? Or do you have any U.K dis or man outlets in place already? Would be intrested in talking imports or build if you want to hed down that road.
Mail me.
Slimfitlimited@yahoo.co.uk Can't go wrong with having a chat and getting a few facts.
Dude I just hope you handle the tires and rims before you put it out ( sick! I want one!! ) cuz we both know even a racing bicycle's tires can't handle that speed and pressure for long.
Honda has a inverter generator 900/1000W gasoline 50 c c engine / alternator that canbe converted to run by a electric motor , instead of gasoline. or ...= . SEE my comments @ PESWiki / CLaNZeR mike peine understand ? thats free energy ! that with normal care can last hundreds of years. also.... SEE the videos of people powering alternators via bikes to power electric blenders etc... police / taxi alternators put out alot of juice at ideal a small motor with gearing can power them .and
@fairyheli2 Yes sir! And if the circuitry is done correctly the braking can actually dump some electricity back into the batteries at the same time. Always thought about building a bike like this. Great work guys.
My old car did one time reached 120 mph downhill, but always max. 80 mph uphill. The manufacturer specification says 100 mph. Only one thing is interesting = the manufacturer specification. I guess this speed has been measured, in a straight line !
We need to accept that an electric bike will have to be very heavy which is not a problem. What we must insure is good distance. If i could find an electric bike that would 40mph and 60 miles between charges it would be ace. Our government should make them legal and not require road tax or insurance. It seems the government are supressing electric vehicles because they want profit from oil sales. IT annoys me the government will not make electric bikes legal and puny speed limits.
dude you have to tell me how you made that bike i was looking on line at the stealth bomber and all to bikes there like $9000 which is crazy so hit me up 862-367-1552
absolutely a great bike I want one,but if someone is poor like me they might want to buy a gas engine kit for there bike, for about $200.oo see mine at my channel MrMsrtube buy the way these engines get 150mpg and go about 40mph easy
@freddy9867 I hit 39mph once going down a decent hill. It was on a sidewalk though so it was kinda bumpy. My highest speed on flat ground is just 34mph though.
Have you guys ever thought of putting one of these engines in a BMX bike? Some of us short guys don't like riding mountain bikes, it just feels awkward. I prefer to have my hands higher than my ass in classic BMX bike fashion. Also if you look a motorcycle frame design the seat is always lower than the bars (takes the stresses off the wrist, elbows, and shoulders), never understood why mountain bike frames were designed so different. Nice work though just wish I had some cash, nice website.
dont use avid mechanical disk brakes, constant braking at those speeds will wear out the weak pads, plus you have no modulation, which a bike like that is a must. get hydrualic brakes so it doesent fail later on,just a bike mechanics opinion.
@hipowercycles get shimano saints or even better hope moto v2's with vented discs, the latter is the only mtb brake really capable of handling something like this.
You guys are always putting together some really sick bikes. I have a friend with an aluminum shop if you were to stick with one specific bike you can have the frame mods made for about $90$110 and you could put out bikes exactly the same as the stealth bombers. D.Ray Amped.
Hey there thanks for the heads up. That's the direction we are headed for our new DH bike coming in a few months. If you could message us some contact info, that would be great!
@OCPUNK - I tried many bikes like Stromer and A2B but they have really bad performanceand $2800 is tooo much !! compared with the Busettii bikes made in the USA. The Big 50 Mile Bike by Busettii that I have will go over 50 miles on a charge but still has more torque and speed than these over priced bikes I tried. Busettii's are about $1800 and also made in USA. Can cruise at 27 mph on a busettii thanks, Rainbow
78 volts at 50 amps for two wheel drive is only a maximum of 3900 watts. Figure in resistance loss and heat loss motors probably have only 3200 watts or so for two wheel drive. Not close to 8000 watts!
isnt the point of having a mtn bike to get fit and cycle ureself ?, if u want it powered get an offroad motorbike. although i think theres a great need for electric motorbikes.
You said it was a pretty steep grade, then you brag about how it goes 48mph DOWN THAT SAME GRADE?!?!? I hate to tell you but any bicycle can go fast down hill.
@joninwv As you can see, there is a slight downgrade when 48 MPH is hit, and the throttle is let off as he goes down the steep hill. We tried to make it as flat as possible before the hill. In the next two weeks we will be uploading a new 10000W bike for fun, as well as a 60 MPH speed run completely flat!
@joninwv where he said "steep grade", that wasn't where the 48mph was achieved. He was way, way further on top of that hill where it didn't look very steep at all. Where he clocked 48mph wasn't even steep yet until a little bit down.
If you think any bike can hit 48mph on such a short stretch and low grade hill, then you're obviously not a real cyclist nor do you have a good bike. 48mph is fucking fucking fast for a bicycle.
How hard would it be to make some kind of off road chair with those motors? im not saying make it go 50 mph but even just a walking pace the battery would last longer. Their is really no one out there that has come up with a real design for a power off road wheel chair you guys could really target the market on something like that. Branch out and expand your company.
Why are these illegal on road? Couldn't one get it classified as a motorcycle? I see this thing and I badly want to put drop bars and slick tires on it :D
The bike is sweet, although isnt it overkill having electric motors on both wheels. Couldnt you easily obtain 50 MPH's with a 800-1000 watt single rear hub drive 36 volts or 48 volts . With one motor less of a load on battery which = longer battery life, better range, much cheaper etc.a.lso I bet the handling of a twin motor bike takes a while to get used to, Cool prototype though, nice bike.
@hipowercycles Hey thanks!!! Damn... the prices are pretty high... but your bikes worth every penny... Even if I sell my motorcycle still won't be enough :( I'm tired of paying $4 per gallon for my car... lol Gonna add you to favorites... maybe some day I'll come back to you with some ca$h in hand... ;) At least I hope so...
@VIDEOZAL Hopefully by the time you have money, our prices get a little lower with changing technology. We constantly improve our bikes so rest assured you will get a much better product when you are ready to buy!
That's my biker's dream right there!!! Tires going faster then bike it's self!!! That's a lot of power. But what's up with the noise? This is electric, supposed to be real quiet?
Look, everybody knows that these geared hub motors become unreliable at anything over 50v. Even if you change the plastic gears, the clutch still fails and the metal gears wear faster over 50v. The truth of the matter is that the X5 series, the new X54 series and the Chinese Spoked Moped Motors are the only viable option for hub motors beyond 50v when it comes to reliability. Nobody is saying your bike won't work.......but it won't work for long being abused like that.
most E-bikes have to be governed to a max speed of 30mph, anything faster requires a license and are classified as electric motorcycles, but this is dammed impressive build I have to say, I want one, lol
It sounds like a Prius. Atleast make revving noises please... :)

VIDEOZAL 3 months ago
@VIDEOZAL Hopefully by the time you have money, our prices get a little lower with changing technology. We constantly improve our bikes so rest assured you will get a much better product when you are ready to buy!

That's my biker's dream right there!!! Tires going faster then bike it's self!!! That's a lot of power. But what's up with the noise? This is electric, supposed to be real quiet?
Martins2012 3 months ago
@Martins2012 The camera had a mic that really honed in on the noise of the hub. They are typically quiet!
