@CFlatla You can't anticipate a foul pop as an out. It's sort of like booting a potential double play ball, yet still getting an out at second or first. Due to the nature of the play, you can't anticipate it as a sure out if the play had been made like usual. Thus, there is no way you could have an error during a perfect game.
This was a no hitter, not a perfect game. Perfect games reflect the entire defense. No runner can reach base. The pitcher was perfect, but perfect games don't care only about the pitcher.
@superjeff299 yes you can have a perfect game with an error..if you watched baseball you would know that Dallas Braden from the oakland athletics pitched a perfect game on mother's day and there was an error in the game but no runner reached first base...a perfect game can consist of an error but you cannot have any hits or any walks..a runner can't reach base...
@davejgallant u cant have an error if a runner doesnt reach base. if there was an error on the A's side, then a runner had to of reached base, and no u can not have a perfec game with an error. it would just be a no-hitter. A perfect game can NOT have an error in it.
