chan did and does all his stunts. in bruce lee's movies, jackie started off as a STUNT double.

thats how his career kicked off

Watch the outtakes in New Police Story. He doesn't use wires for fight sequences, but when he's gotta jump high or long distances, he needs those or else he'll get seriously injured.
