  • it's amasing how french and swedish aircraft looks similar since 1950 ! i really think they our political should have joint our aircraft fighter's industries to increase both country power. But sweden and france don't have the same need and defense politics... :o(

  • @bingofioul I have read somewhere that there was some information exchange when Concorde was under development , The Swedish Draken had some initial problems with the wing design, and a few crashed before those problems was solved. Nobody wanted that to happen with a passenger flight.

Well, I don't know if it's true, I only read it once from an unverified source, but if it's true, it can explain some common design.

  • @ytbabbler i never heard about this story, but in the 1960's everyting was possible. am i the only who think that swedish and french aircraft (military) looks similar since 1950 ? if someone has a video of 1945 ->1970 swedish air force i'd like to see it !

  • @bingofioul You can search for "Wings of Sweden" , it's a discovery program that show the different air planes (they are not so many)

I can agree that Rafale and Gripen looks very alike, they also have about the same equipments, but I think Gripen looks better :-) (it can redraw the fuel pipe)

I don't know if Rafale is unstable like Gripen, but I guess it is.

How much a plane can turn is limited by the pilot , so how fast it response on commands is the key, and a stable plane react more slowly.

  • STOVL = short take off and vertical landing.

STOL = short take off and landing
