Eventually, people realized "hey, it's fucked up to enslave people" and enacted laws to stop it. Similarly, people realized "hey, an adult fucking a minor could seriously screw up the minor's life" and enacted laws to stop that activity.

@elgilicious not if the minor is going out of his/her way to have sex with an adult... joining an adult chatroom and stating she/hes a kid wanting to have sex is really something I'd like to call baiting. these older men with nothing better to do having some candy thrown right in front of them so easily... yes these men are sick but the kids are also sick in the head... the bs that they cant think for themselves is a laugh considering they would plan all of this up at a young age.

At a young age, you are not fully mentally developed in regards to sexual feelings and though processes, numerous amounts of research has shown this. That is why laws were enacted in many states, even if a minor says "yes", it's not ok because they can not consent to it, it's statutory rape.

@elgilicious Worse argument on your part. Sometimes "more enlightened" laws get repealed because they are simply bad exercises of political power. The 21st Amendment to the US Constitution repeals the 18th Amendment, which was first enacted to preserve public morals. By the time you graduate high school, you'll have learned a little about this.

@333666666 Wrong. The 18th Amendment didn't represent a shift in morals b/c what people considered "bad" didn't change; rather, people thought that alcohol made people more likely to do bad acts. The law was repealed b/c it was ineffective at hindering immoral activity, not because the moral zeitgeist changed. When you graduate special ed high school, you'll have learned to read critically. @NBAGOATS not in my area. there are just as many black sex offenders as there are white sex offenders in my area, which is in Akron Ohio and not far from where this scene took place.
