damn bloated arthouse films. There are more attractive and appealing ways to reveal of the origins of the world and its rebirth etc. "The Tree of Life" for one. After watching this and other arthouse flicks, I find it hard that mainstream audiences can't grasp Malick's movie.

I appreciate what it tries to do, but I rather look at it as a painting than watching metaphor on top of metaphor in such alien fashion or over an hour.

Well i just saw this whole movie and i don't know what to think of it....one thing is clear; this movie is pretty sick and disturbing. Mostly because you don't get a real grip on what is happening but at the same time you just can't stop watching...but that was the exactly meaning (i think). What a trip, man! This was the strangest way I have ever been told the story of the creation. I have to give the director props for his creative yet dark and graphic version. I have to admit it was interesting but not something I will want to watch all over again. Good vision though...

Beginning was interesting, but this movie is kind of a disaster, if you ask me. It tries to be all subtle, creepy, and symbolic like Eraserhead, but it's way too monotonous and un-engaging to leave much of an impression.
