your voice sounds a bit like mine lol. good to hear that you dont shout like a lot of singers, intonation could be a little more secure but keep singingand itll probably even out. where were you singing this? it sounds quite echoey, like a church or something
You've got a very sweet voice. If you were to improve this at all, I'd get your tuning TOTALLY secure before adding the echo which REALLY emphasises any errors...But good job!
Wow! You sound like Hayley Westenra (a kiwi girl) who has a voice of an Angel....that's a great compliment. You don't need a guitar, or anything for that matter, it's far better you did it your way as your voice is pure. I am a Kiwi (New Zealander) and the magic that I have heard is unbelievable. May God keep and Bless You and your voice.
as an aussie born who grew up in nz from 3 months to 13yrs this sent shivers down my spine as i remember being taught this in school.i surprised myself after a couple of goes at the lrics i could still prononce them correctly.i am now 60.your singing is magic.keep it up
I was in London feeling very homesick, I stood in the tube and started singing this waiata, about 10 kiwi's within ear shot came and stood beside my and we sung our lungs out. Needless to say I brought a ticket back to Aotearoa. You sing it beautifully and its a song we can all identify with...thanks for the memories.
This song truly is beautiful... and you have a truly amazing voice to complement it so well... i must admit some of the opening lines seemed a bit off-key, but all in all that was amazing....
I am a Brit, i absolutely love this song and am trying my hardest to learn it. Yours is by far my favourite so far as it is the clearest pronunciation I have heard yet. I dont think i will be putting my version up when I finaly learn it, my old voice is too croaky nowadays :-).
I'm gonna be honest with you, as this song was written by a great grand uncle of mine (distant but relative none the less) if you made any mistakes, I didn't hear them.
I think you have a beautiful voice and you done this song well.
I personally think that it is one of the better versions of it I've heard in a long time.
Wow!! You have the most amazingly beautiful voice, and have chosen the perfect song to complement it - I would say your voice equals Hayley Westenra's... sent shivers all through me!
You have the voice of an angel. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent. Love it!!!

You have a nice voice. I think it would sound even nicer with a guitar playing softly in the background.

Thanks ever so much for your comment. It has made my day =]
It's simple to catch onto, find the words for it online and somehow associate the words to brittish words. That's how I do it =]
I would love to hear your version once it's up =]

Hey rowleyc, what's age got to do with it. I sing this song and I think I do it justice, and I'm 74.
