hey there nice run... can i ask you something, is it better to tape those tires or put line outside? tape fails after some months, while line fails more often but its replaceable. what did you do for this run? thx!

@mefuzion We dont use tape, i hate that solution, not effective for that kind of speed anyway. We used fishing line, and never had to replace it in the entire summer, the tire was worn at the end of summer , the fishing line was kind of welded on the tire. thx! :)

@fq300evo On the wing thats the upper part that do downforce, one each side, we kept the center part. For the body we cut the rear of the body to let air escape. :)

@nashcarlos it is far from stock setup, you need hpi phaltlines tires, good 3S batteries in serie(6), a Neu 1515 1.5D motor 2700kv, (we got 88mph with the 2200 ) you need 24t 36t mod1 gearing, CVDs, lower the suspension with zip-ties, cut a part of the wing and rear body to prevent wheelies, you need a lot of room, the rest of the setup is up to your imagination. :)

@Aznfa You need to use zip-ties to keep both rockers together, this way you can lowered it the way you want, keep some suspension travel though or it will handle bad.

Then make sure alignment, toe, camber is right.

@nilton801 thank you, you need the phaltlines tires from HPI with their wheels, tremor, it can be sold included or seperatly... you need the right gearing, ride height, battery, and you can get some decent speed. :)

Wind mod? if you mean that the wind make us go that fast, at worst the difference between back and forth was like 2-3mph, and we will of course choose the faster side if we are gonna risk high speed cartwheels at every runs. I have several videos that show top speed going both side. Its not downhill and the wind is there so why not use it even if its for 2 mph or so.

24t 36t mod1 gearing with those tires its geared for about 95-100mph on 6S.

More and more people are getting closer to our results using a part of our setup, you can go on traxxas forum and browse in the E-revo brushless section and search for a thread called E-revo top speed challenge.

1) the 2700kv by Neu is more powerful, than the 2200kv, but the 2200kv will most of time run slightly cooler. we use the Neu 1.5d 2700kv for top speed, otherwise we use the 2200kv.

2) Direct fit, use the nitro revo spur gear with a mod1 pinion.

3)i dont know what i told you for the setup, but the tires are the most important.

4)We used the 4200mah Thunderpower because the 5000 did not fit in the battery case...later we modified the box to fit, but lost protection under

Its a custom gearing, but its nothing hard to find, its a 24t pinon (mod1 size)

with a 36t nitro revo spur gear. :)

Its a good all around truck, but you may need to upgrade some stuff if you run 6S.

if you want to go stupidly fast, use lightweight lipos found from small heli's and pack 4 of them together for extra discharge rate grab a set of bocca lightning cermaic bearings, and an ultra high torque servo

( so the steering wheels cant twitch and throw you off the road )

result? you'll go as fast as this guy or more, also shaft touring cars with aero shells get to these speeds easier than truck as it's rather weighty and un aerodynamic, bloody good truck there tho.

I have a stock E Revo. Recently mine started to just take off and glitch. I drove it today, it started off fine, then after a while it started to take off.(I picked it up because it was going full throttle and I turned it off.) I don't want it to take off in a brick wall. I did accidently leave the remote on all night. But I changed the batteries once I saw the little light on it blinking. After that it has been acting up. Please help!!

@TheChris1696 I dont know what could be the problem, you can try to bind the controller to teh esc again. It may solve the problem. It is probably described in the instruction manual of teh E-revo. :)

@blackwidowc101979 The motor is a Neu 1515 1.5d 2700kv, the stock motor did 88mph. the list would be too long+explanations... its very hard on the esc anyway, i dont suggest you to gear it over 70mph.

Use 27t 54t (32 pitch gear like stock) HPI phaltlines tires, 6S lipo over 30C discharge, low suspension setup, lot of room and you should hit 70.

start from there and see if you still want to go faster. 70mph is still pretty fast for its size.

@MegaGdrummer I was too far from the road to get an accurate reading with the radar, you can see one run it even didnt read on radar, id say you dont have the knowledge to really get the best out of your stuff. And i proved a lot of time i was right. Some are gettting very close result now with a similar setup as ours, with the same tires mod.

We modified the tires to eliminate almost every ballooning.

@1521joe mod1 gears have bigger teeths than the stock 32 pitch, mod1 is almost the same as the revo 3.3 gears, wich have bigger teeths than the E-revo stock ones.

We used a revo 3.3 36t spur gear with a 24t mod1 pinion. :)

Reliable with the right parts, but id get a truggy if you are looking for racing. :)

its easier to work on and also more reliable.

@MegaGdrummer He taped the tires and also ran kevlar line around the outside. Its in french, because he is from Canada, and he has it set to mph. You can see the mph when he re-sets the gps. And its not that easy to radar a small target like the erbe. The radar is made for 1:1 cars. Also, it says 80mph on the radar because he kept it up on the screen, not because he is trying to lie to us. Mike is legit with his speed, and Im sorry you do not believe that he is telling the truth.

But on most runs if it wheelie we just let off the throttle and its fine, we dont have enought room anyway if it wheelie, we have to come back and do another pass..
