i appreciate the kind post.......an almost exact guitar is on the cover of Acoustic Guitar this month. It is a very special instrument....all the best!
Hello, I would just like to say how very helpful I found your video, I thought you explained and demonstrated the song very well, thank you. Steve (Staffordshire,England UK)
That was a great lesson, what a fun song to play!
You have the nicest guitar collection, Doc. Someone from the Collings forum directed me to your videos. I'm going to try to order a 290 with a Bigsby at some point.
wow Brother. I've been clowning around with this for a couple of months and you cleared up a couple of relatively simple licks that complete my effort. Now just gotta keep my retarded fingers in check! lol. Thank you so much. very discriptive and helpful
Very, very nice! Thank you for this. One question: How do you feel about playing this open tuning, acoustic stuff without a pick? As I get older and play longer, I feel more that the pick comes between me and the guitar, too much. You're a way better player than I am, so I wonder how you feel?
thanks so much for watching and i appreciate your kind post! I like playing both ways - i do agree that feeling your fingers on the strings is a great thing, however for strumming and fast single note runs for me it's a pick. All the best with your music!
Hi Dale....I'm coming back for my monthly visit for song ideas, and watched you make this one another easy one to learn quickly. Thanks for making this available.
Dale - I have been checking out your Bad Co and Skynyrd vids and they are awesome, but his is the best of all. I love the sound of open G tuning - brown sugar, honky tonk woman and can't you hear me knocking are some of the best rock songs ever - and most fun to play. Would love to see you do more Stones lessons (Midnight Rambler). Thanks so much. Marc
hello Marc - sure appreciate you taking your time to check out the videos and your kind feedback is greatly appreciated!! i couldn't agree more - open G just rocks and those are some GREAT tunes you mentioned. Can't You Hear Me Knockin....gotta give that a listen what a tune. All the best my friend,
Hey Dale, Another good one Bro. I've got an uncle that plays the dobro guitar
(open G, of course) which is standard tuning for dobro. Anyway, I jam with him almost every week, He is 74 years old. I can't wait to get over there, take my guitar out, and spring this one on him.
"Uncle Norm does The Stones." Bluegrass will never be the same. Ha Ha Thanks Dale, blessings to the family too.
lol......wish i could be there to hear you guys play it together!! Isn't it great how music works no matter what the age of the player. you know Keef ain't all that far from 74 himself!! Sure appreciate the great post - hope you and your gang is all good as well sir!
Hi Dale, just found your channel and i like it lots. I have been playing tumbling dice for a while but I like some of your touches which are better than the way I have been playing it. I love open G on a tele, I shall take a tour around you videos to see what other riches are to be found. Thanks Graham.
hello Graham........great to meet you and thanks so much for stopping by the channel! Great to hear you are a tele player! Hope all is good and keep rockin!
