  • im going to leicster who else

  • i loved the old exodus parties, esp the sand pit ones :)

  • When I growing up in the 80's the images of unhappy people being heavy handedly dealt with by police were all over the news, funny how some things don't change huh? take heed people freedom needs a voice x

  • where's the DJ?

  • if we fight the good fight then theyr gonna have to fall...to us all...

  • smelly hippies ;)

  • Bring the peace back !!!!

  • yeah agreed,awesomeeeeee

  • awesomeeeeee

  • feels like the perfect soundtrack to all the G20 events in London & the big march

  • Who said anything bout them running the system ? Sugarraygras you sound brainwashed mate, if it wasnt for a totalitarian dictatatorship the Levs would have nothing to sing about, your vision is enlightening, yes we should have a corrupt system ,after all there would be no Levellers songs, much as i admire them,I know which one i would prefer.

  • we the soundsystem yeahh the levs are fucking awsome great band

    :D

  • Never before has so much info on this world been available to us. we have the the power to expose our shortsighted morally corrupt leaders and systems that weaken us and empower THEM, listen to what the levellrs say, it isnt a pose, RISE UP PEOPLE ! Razorlight my arse, Artic monkeys have nothing to say. Great track and vid. FIGHT THE POWER .

  • what i like about them is the way they dont tell people what to do they just advise them what will happen if they do something.

  • Rise up,.....and what,...... dance our way throught he rest of our days. Levellers are cool and I dont doubt they are good guys but the thought of any of these guys running the system is more scary then the twats who run things now. Just enjoy the music and keep an open mind. But a brief history lesson on rising without a political ethos is a ticket to destruction!

  • I like to look at this way. If we didnt live in a totalitarian corrupt political dictatorship, then we would have been deprived of years of the levellers best work,as they wouldnt have fuck all to sing about!

  • finally someone else who think that band from sheffield are crap.

    Artic mokeys-pffft, ive shit em

    now this is music

  • skill!

  • Levellers the best!

Oh and I love the arctic monkeys too

  • Love this song! But hey...whats this about 'Exodus' being a traditional irish folk song? From what I read in their biography, The Levs wrote this song...

  • @partyboyjoeb this song is about the luton based sound system and commumity collective exodus -we the sound system, we the collective- who levellers played benefit gigs for back in the day. there's footage of their parties on here- best days of my life! xx

  • @amberrosejade in fact i just found benefit gig footage on here wicked!!!

  • everyone should put the levellers on, and hug up with a glass of wine.....

now wouldent the world be a better place.

  • Not for the people who dont like wine or the Levellers it wouldnt! I would quite like it though! As long as I didnt have to pay for the wine and it was at your place! Only joshing. Levellers are cool!

  • Sounds like an old irish folk song to me! well not just to me it actualy is sound an irish folk song one of the rebel ones, yea lets pull a tree down no a forest no i mean plant a forest i think eh mmm fook politics then or something nah its just music trying to say summat i think yea music with meaning uh wot you saying

  • Zeitgeist isn't their best album, though it has gems like this song and Men-an-Tol. Best album? Levelling the Land, in my opinion. This song is so bloody good, though. Shame the good times have gone...and now? Cheeky little 'indie' shysters like Razorlight et al who have nothing to say.

  • I couldn't have put it better myself. They're true musicians with real messages and surviving the mainstream. It takes some doing, and I think the truth is that it's getting harder. I saw them once myself in Manchester and had one of the best nights ever.

  • you got that right, fuck all new music around worth listening to.. Arctic monkeys.. pwah ive shit em,

  • no no no best studio album is levelling the land...

best album altogether has to be headlights white lines and black tar rivers (best live) that IMO is the best levs album, in fact if you only ever buy one levellers cd id say get that one. it tells you what the levellers are all about, and even though its made up from several gigs, it feels like a gig itself, me and a good mate spent many and evening getting pissed on MD290/20(kiwi) dancing around to that arm in arm country style

  • Yes, I said Levelling the Land...check my comment, I agree...I just said Zeitgeist - despite not being the best album - has some gems like this song.

  • have far from listened to all levellers songs, but I believe Zeitgeist is the best of their CDs... love all the songs in it

  • i was there ,the trip there was crazy cos it snowed mad the night before and that day

  • saw this played in peterborough recently and its refreshed my love for the song.

  • Saw them at The Carling Academy, Newcastle recently and thought they were brilliant. Thanks for a great night and brilliant music!!

  • Exodus is what the levellers are abouut. It is ashame that they screwed themselves up. Drugs and alcohol have a tendency to do that to people.

  • They aren't really screwed up, even if I agree on what drugs and alcohol can do to people (especially it has a tendence to do it to musicians :s)

  • excellent!! thank you KrilaSounds...been looking for this single, and its hard to find.

i had it on better read than dead.

  • well turn the dust to soil, turn the rust of h8 back in2 passion,

Its not water into, but its here, and its happeng, massive...but passive.. I get always get a sviver up my pine when i hear that line... it just one of tose, even when i sing it to my myself i get a little chill fromthat line-one of the greatest lyrics in rock IMVHO

  • Proud to say I was at that Blackpool gig...was totally awesome

  • Me Too! Got there from glasgow through the snow with nowhere to stay. A kind woman put us up and the gig was amazing.

  • i wish these things would go to hell

  • Pure class

  • this could be my favorite levellers song

  • I've seen them 3 times, the gigs are orsome full of energy :0)

  • Their a great band live thats if ya can keep up!! good band!

  • Zeitgeist is THE Levellers album, couldn't agree with your comment more premier0807 - 'rock' music is rubbish nowadays!

  • Yeah, nowadays there is "some" ok music. that's it.

  • My preffered Levellers album is "A Weapon Called the Word" followed by "Levelling the Land" but Zeitgeist is pretty good!

  • I saw them live some 10 years ago. It was one of the greatest live performance I've ever seen. Zeitgeist is still one of my favourite rock albums. Meaningful music, not that silly stuff called rock you can hear everywhere today.

  • God, i used to play this all the time aged about 14/15, sitting in my room, desperately wishing i was a new-age traveller! I thought this album was perfect. Still sounds fucking awesome.

  • yeah, Zeitgeist is really good, one of their best I think. My favorite Levellers song Men an Tol is on it too.

  • so inspiring. is zeitgeist one of those perfect albums?

  • amazing video and fantastic song bring the peace back!

  • "We'll turn the dust to soil, turn the rust of hate back into passion, it's not water into wine but it's here and it's massive, but passive - to bring the peace back!"

Damn fine songwriting and no mistake.

  • oh wow...first comment here too! i saw the levellers live, they totally rocked!
