  • RIP Jeff :(

  • thank you so much for this vid.! I've been looking for a video from the audience perspective of a born to run era show for ages!

  • I was on the front row - Far right. Big ass speakers right in front of us. One song Bruce hid behind the speakers right in front of us.

    Thanks for the memories.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • what a cool teenager you were ! great job filming it man ! natural no shake, you hold a shot, amazing footage, reckon film looks so cool, nice work, don't be surprised Thrill Hill want to buy your original reels for decent money. Thanks for the Share amazing, hope you carried on shooting over the years.

  • Tnank´s for sharing! Great pictures!

  • Saw Bruce on 11/01/1975 at Rob Gym in UC Santa Barbara. Several days after his Troubador shows and a few weeks after his Newsweek/Time dual covers.

Awesome show. Hundreds of New Jersey license plates in the parking lots.

  • Way, WAY cool, Jeff. Thanks for sharing, and it looks like you were pretty cool as a kid.

  • Oh, wow! Can't believe this! I was at this concert too. Not sure if this was the 1st or 2nd night. I went to both. I was only 18 too. The first night we had 4th row center seats. Still one of my favorite concerts EVER. Loved it so much went back again the next night. I also saw him in Liberty Hall in about '73? Not sure. That was the first I ever heard of him - a couple of years before he made it big with Born To Run. Thanks for the memories!

  • rajae, this was the first night and I wish I'd gone the 2nd night also but couldn't make it. Also one of my favorite concerts ever. You know, the soundboard audio exists in bootleg circles. In fact, that where I got this audio to overlay over the silent 8mm. You should hear "Jungleland"!

  • Hanson913 wow, amazing nicely filmed hope you still making movies, 8mm looks so sweet, a question because I can never find a real answer, here it is if I were to now buy a cheap super8/8mm camera how would I transer that footage to my computer, I mean do the cameras themselves have outputs ie RCA etc, anyway your footage is timeless, classdic, how'd you manage to get a camera into a venue back then . amazing !

  • The other reason Houston was so important for Bruce was the Houston Chronicle/Post music writer Bob Claypool who wrote very positive reviews of the shows. In later dates in Houston he would also refer to "Bobby" in Houston - in reference to Claypool.

  • Yes, you're right. Claypool was very influential back then, and very hard to please. Houston was also important for Bruce due to the Liberty Hall shows played there in '74 and '75. In later dates, Bruce would refer to "Roberto" and thank him from the stage. Roberto ran Liberty Hall. I spoke to Clarence after the Auburn show in '76 and he was very pro-Houston and said it was one of their big breakout towns.

  • Claypool was one of the best ! I still miss reading his reviews...

  • This is amazing! Thanks so much for posting it and PLEASE don't take it off! I was devastated when the extreme closeup during "Sandy" at Widener just disappeared. Anybody out there have it or know the deal?

  • I was there. That was a great show and this is the first image I've seen of it since then. Thank you for the memories!!

  • I'll try to add more. There's more.

  • Thanks, boss man

  • Maybe some else can chime in. But I have heard that the Music Hall in Houston is where Bruce had some of his earliest success.

  • Just after the Music Hall shows, Bruce hit the covers of Time and Newsweek on the same week. I spoke with Clarence the next year and he said that the Texas dates in Austin, San Antonio and Houston were instrumental in their national success. In later Houston dates, Bruce would usually mention and thank Roberto from Liberty Hall and once even had Roberto on stage with him.

  • Thank you Hanson914

A few years later, I had front row seats for the 2nd show at the Houston Summit. It was the best 3 hours I had on this planet with my clothes on. I was so close I could see the spit fly from his mouth. The energy he displayed was incredible.

Meatloaf one said he would love to perform like Springsteen, but for him it would be physically impossible.

  • Hey Rkorenek, what date was that? I had front row seats for the show in December 1978! Small world or what!

  • Cool! Thanks for posting!

  • what's with the audio/video time? It doesn't even seem that both were taken from the same concert ¿?

  • Cool footage!
