I think GT cars and wrc and drift cars are cool because you can go out and buy the cars they are racing. Going green does mean going slow. There are many fast green cars. They just are'nt for sale to people. If they make green sports cars, I think they will catch on. The pirus and camry are boring to drive. If a hybird was fun to drive I would buy one.

I'm not sure if it's just me, but does anyone else think that there are maybe TOO many variations of the 911? I mean don't get me wrong, it's a great car and I love it, but it seems like Porsche is always trying to one up itself with the different variations. I think everyone knows how good the 911 is in any form, so why the necessity for so many? And where on earth is the GT1? The 993 and 996 versions were car porn fodder, and a 997 version is nowhere to be found? Disappointing Zuffenhausen....

there are about 52, that's right, fifty two versions of the current 3 series BMW available in Europe.if there is demand, BMW makes a car to satisfy that demand. same with Porsche and the 911. customers demand certain versions , Porsche builds them for the customers.instead of a new GT1 they made the Carrera GT and the RS Spyder for racing.

Racing is all about internal combustion, piston powered engines, even these diesels that are racing now are boring as hell, there's nearly no exhaust noise--all you hear is turbo whistle/spooling up-- to let you know it's running.

I know this BS about "green tech" will ruin series dead. The sponsors will encourage "green tech" and the fans won't watch because it's not exciting or fun to watch or recognizable cars entering.

For anyone who has been following Bugatti/Audi relations with VW, it is rumored that the Chattanooga VW plant will be making engine components for the Bugatti Galibier and the Audi R8 V10. Also, it is rumored that an ENTIRE section of the plant will be made strictly for Audi parts. I'll keep you updated!

Subaru is not known for 100+hp/liter NA engines

So its most likely a 2.5L or a 2.0L Turbocharged engine... definitely not a NA 2.0L

The turbo will justify the extra 5k pricetag

There are talks of Toyota developing new cylinder heads for these motors. If they are hoping to push higher HP numbers, perhaps the new heads are the key. It will be interesting to see if they are backwards compatible with the other EJ blocks. Having a new choice for better flowing turbo heads from the factory would be a great upgrade for older Subies.

Unless Yamaha are in the mix its unlikely that 250hp comes from a NA 2litre

I think the Mugen RR is *only* about 240hp from a highly tuned 2litre Honda K20, and Honda is KNOWN for high NA hp/liter

I'm not saying its totally impossible, but I highly doubt it.

But you never know... these are 2 motoring powerhouses, there is something called "synergy" after all...

Looking at that beautiful 599XX and of course all their recent race cars from F1 and Le Mans, I can tell that Ferrari has abandoned that theory, while still making some of the best engines on the planet, of course.
