I think I understand what happened. He's using Cam Studio, and he didn't fiddle with any of the options. This happened to me, sort of, when trying to set up a Resident Evil 1 for PC LP. Fortunately, I caught those problems, and have yet to upload a video, or even get to the commentary stage, because I want it to be actually watchable before I do my post commentary.

Hide cursor hides the cursor in the recording, not while recording. The emulator hides the cursor if it uses a custom cursor, like ZSNES. However, that is no excuse to have the cursor in the recording.

In case anyone's curious, I've seen this kind of thing before.  This is what happens when you don't know how to make a game windowed, so you drag the Camstudio recording box to cover the entire screen, not realizing that the game might run in a different aspect ratio than your screen.
