This endurance test used Black Hills 147GR +P ammo. Any Nano will run flawlessly with that ammo. The problems that customer's have with their Nanos, me included, is FTE when shooting low quality ammo that is inconsistent in power. Once I started using better quality ammo like American Eagle 124GR and Federal Classic Hi-Shok JHP I stopped having problems with FTE. I have over 3200 rounds through my Nano now and it is very reliable, very comfortable to shoot, and accurate too.
@3:20 did he say to break it in with a 1000 rounds of the ammo you will carry? No way am I gonna use up 1000 expensive rounds just for break in period.
@esh325 - Actually it says alot about the gun's reliability. In the real world not everyone cleans and relubes their carry gun as often as they should...especially if they carry in a pocket. 1000 rounds run through it like that will heat up the barrel and other parts, so that it kept running flawlessly tells me it's a great gun to carry and I can probably trust my life with it.
It's very impressive, but the test actually bears very little practically in the real world. Nobody carries 1000 rounds of ammo or will ever have to shoot 1000 rounds of ammo in a shoot out. I'm sure a lot of pistols out there would shut down from being too dirty if they went through what a Beretta Nano did in this test, but it doesn't really matter.
I think I'm going to love this gun. Quick question, since it's a pocket gun, I understand making the trigger pull 9 pounds. Can that be adjusted at all? Is it difficult to adjust? Thanks!
I have one question... I have a 92fs, and love the fact that I have put well over 5,000 rounds thru it and never had one single issue. Would you call the Nano just as reliable as the 92 series, or is it too early to tell?
The Nano isn't even close to the 92 in reliability. Check out the numerous and chronic malfunctions that are well documented at The Beretta Forum. I too am a 92 fan and was very excited when the Nano was announced. But people who actually bought and used the Nano have reported too many problems to allow me to consider it as a defensive weapon. Maybe if they get the bugs worked out.
A picture (or in this case, a 7.5 min video), is worth a thousand words !! Just an EXCELLENT display of craftsmanship and reliability ... WELL DONE Beretta !! I've found my new "pocket 9" ... will purchase one this week ... can't wait !!
I attempted to order the Beretta Nano from Gander Mountain. However they sold out immediately around Thanksgiving Day, as soon as they got them in. They told me it would be weeks before more arrived. Three days later I was able to order one from Carbela's though, and its on the way. I choose the Beretta Nano over the Kahr CM9 do to its issues with slingshot loading.
I need to pick my jaw up off the floor now.... Kahr with their PM9 and CM9, small single stack pocket 9mms, recommends at least a 200 round break in period, and they are known to malfunction and have plenty of problems within the first 100-500 rounds until they're full broken in. You took a new Nano, eliminated all lubrication and put 1000 rounds through it without a single FTF/FTE? That's incredible. I'm sold.
Gander Mountain was sold out same ay they put an ad in the paper hope you guys can put out as many as will be needed to meet demand. can't wait for the.40 to come out as i rather have more power with only 6 shots to shoot with. I hope also as with other guns that we don't get less rounds with the .40 than the 9mm.
@ross512009 We are working hard to produce as many as needed, but the Nano has been a huge success. The objective is to have capacity of 6 rds in the .40cal as well.
@badolan See previous comment. Check out our website to find a dealer near you. Our Facebook page is full of comments from happy shooters who bought one!
I noticed a pretty bright wear spot on the barrel block, on the top right corner of the flared portion, up and right from the stamped "9 Para." This was after 120 rounds.
I'm interested to know if this is normal. Could we get some feedback on the "normal" wear on your nano after the 1000 rounds?
Kind of strange to see a 6 round magazine, though I suppose the gun is pretty small. What kind of recoil and handling are you seeing on 9mm vs .40? If I'm limited to only 6 shots I may want to up the power a bit and go with the .40.
Not sure what kind of heads up you've given your dealers, but I've called around the local Gander Mountain and Scheels (the two stores in the area with the largest gun selection) and they've not even heard OF the Nano. I was a tad annoyed lol. Either that or I got the one clueless idiot at each store.
I'm a lefty, so this gun is a fairly big deal for me lol.
@BerettaCommunity Sweet!! I'm on my way ... Truthfully, I can't wait to see these, put one in my hand and fire it. it will likely be my next addition and, unless it is painful to shoot, my preferred ccw. I love the specs and the look. I hope I love the feel of it in my hand as much!
Still havent seen this weapon being slingshot loaded. He's fires the Nano the same way they have to fire the Kahrs ( CM9) . Has me wondering if it can be slingshot loaded or if you would have to keep one in the chamber, like with Kahr. Some of these pocket pistols have issues with being loaded that way.
I find it stupid that they made it ambidextrous by removing the slide release with the excuse that it reduces snagging. I don't know about you but I've NEVER had any of my pistols snag on the slide release.
I have shot a lot of pocket pistol 9mms. Did you shoot all 1,000 rounds in a single session? The abuse to your hands and arms must be significant with a 17 ounce firearm.
@FirearmPatriot Ben shot about 500-600 of the 1,000 rounds. The Nano does a great job of handling the recoil, but at 17 ounces, 1,000 rounds is still pretty punishing. He called in some support from his buddies in engineering to help stuff magazines and shoot the gun a bit.
@BerettaCommunity Thank you for the reply. I will be looking to get a Nano when it becomes available at my local dealer. I like the design and have been impressed for Beretta's reliability.
I have to say the quality of the videos are getting better and better! Seeing this Nano is almost making me want to downsize from the PX4 Sub-Compact. Another question I have, is do you guys keep statistics as far as like temperature of the barrel after x amount of rounds? Great work Beretta!
Very expensive? MSRP is $475. Once the "I gotta get one first" crowd is satisfied, street price will almost certainly be a lot less. How much is your life worth to you?

A shame customer guns don't work as reliably as this Nano. This pistol has been a disappointment for a lot of the Beretta faithful.

The worst part of the Nano is loading the magazines. It's pretty tough unless I just got abnormally stiff springs. Can't wait for a loader for it.
