@superbc10I I think Randi is a perfect gentleman to the people whos claims he tests. As long as theyre afe quacks and frauds in the world, there should be James Randis to expose them. And I have a feeling Lennon and Randi would get along just great.Isnt Lennon the one who said imagine "no religion too"?And he says he could be wrong because we skeptics dont make claims to absolute truth, unlike so many of your persuasion
What a sad joke. This dowser deserves the scorn and mocking he received. As a dowser I would never submit to someone elses rules or criteria in my dowsing. It's my dowsing shot and I, and I alone dictate ALL the rules, methods, and criteria. ALL!
I like how this guy tried to double his odds by seeming to be seriously considering two different boxes before finally choosing one. Had box 4 been correct after box 7 was incorrect, he could have simply claimed that box 4 was his "gut instinct" and that he shouldn't have betrayed it. A very clever ploy but unfortunately for him it didn't work. I wonder if he had guessed right on the first try, how many times James would have asked him to repeat the performance?
I love how this man says i'm working for a mining company to find the minerals in the ground, or along those lines. First off no mining company would hire an idiot like that, mostly because if they are mining they already know where the precious minerals are at, or at least have a general idea, if they didn't they wouldn't be mining there in the first place. All these people fall into fantasy, they are the people who wish they could be their favorite superhero, but actually think they are.
Yesterday I put 2 small levels on my rods to make sure I was not subconsciously tilting them up or down as I have recently noticed everyone in a video has done.
The level never moves, I even tried tilting back a little and it still works.
I also cross them in the opposite Direction and they still open and close.
@SamLBInj You can't consciously look for your own subconscious behaviour. A subconscious movement means you're doing it without being aware of it. This means that even if you are trying to prevent it, it still appears to be happening on it's own. In dowsing, the tiniest, imperceptible movement is enough to cause a response. Ideomotor reaction is your scientific answer. Of course, you won't accept this and instead go on believing it's due to something completely unproven, as all dowsers do.
I agree with all of you about the safety of my men. I would never put them at risk and they kn ow that. Most of them have worked for me for close to 20 years.
As I have stated before, I have never once not located an underground utility. Every single time they dig it is there.
I also call the Mandatory Underground Utility dig lines and have also helped them locate mismarked lines.
@SamLBInj Your apparently positive results are obtained under conditions which are skewed in your favour. If you try testing it under proper observing conditions, ie. conditions in which self-deception, success due to random chance and deliberate cheating are all eliminated, you will find that it fails.
@UncleFeedle@UncleFeedle No, I'm not. Doesn't this prove who is DELUDED (you can block usernames, not me ??) and also who is afraid of negativity, backbiting (not a Randi pun, though I know what you Randiists like !!) and scorn. A closed mind is juvenile, Uncle Feeble. Take the advice of Balthasar Gracian and find out things for yourself. Just don't tell your subscribers....
So go ahead, delete this now. It gives you a feeling of control. But its fascist, old man.
@SeekandYouwillFind73 Opposing views and criticism doesn't bother me in the least. However, if you are going to continue to post snidey, offensive remarks and personal insults which are completely uncalled for, do not expect to see them remain here. The same goes for deliberate trolling and postings intended to provoke.
I came here looking for answers and why it works such as magnetic fields, electrical fields, etc. I did not come here to cause a mud throwing contest.
@SamLBInj It isn't about personal insults. A lot of people here don't believe in dowsing, that those who practice it are believing in something that is quite imaginary. You insist that it works, even though there has never been a single recorded instance of dowsing working under appropriate observing conditions.
My Wife is in the Hospital hoping for a liver transplant from something she was born with and I know she will be ok I will be happy to show anyone my ability to Dowse. If I pass the test then fine, If I don't that is also fine. I never did this as a party trick. I do this to locate underground utilities before we dig to make sure my guys are safe.
"If I pass the test then fine, If I don't that is also fine" - I don't agree. It either works or it doesn't. And if it works, does it work under the conditions in which you yourself are satisfied. If you were to fail (as I think you would) you will continue believing, as almost all dowsers do, even when their claimed ability is shown to be completely imaginary. The fact you rely on dowsing to determine people's safety is extremely worrying when dowsing hasn't even been shown to exist.
I can also grab a Weeping Willow Branch if one is around and just use that. Fun to watch it bend down to the ground as it freaks people out. Like I said, I do not know why this works, but it does, and I have always been able to do it. I am sure some scientist somewhere believes he has the answers but I just think you are born with it.
If it helps, My Wife say's my Body temperature is so hot she has to sleep on the edge of our bed or I will cause her to start sweating. Any Ideas?
Is your life really THAT dull, that you have to make up all these powers you allegedly have?
Why don't you just go win Randi's money if you can do it? If I could do it I wouldn't brag about it in a place where people won't believe me, anyway, I'd go prove it. Convenient how you sit there and make the claim but you can't just prove it.
The show is still going through the process and is in the Networks hands. If it goes as planned there will be an episode all about Dowsing. It the show does not make it I will put all the Video right here on YouTube. I was asked not to post any video of the show as it may screw things up so as soon as I know I will let you know. If anyone has any questions just send them to my mew Gmail account at Dowsing4Dollars@Gmail.com

My Customers are always amazed and they try but they cant do it. It was always an odd Novelty to me and everyone I know and all the guys who work for me. I just recently found out about all the interest in this as my Plumbing and Building Business was contacted and asked if we would be interested in turning us into a Reality TV show. During filming I was Dowsing and the Camera guys went nuts in disbelief. The show is still going through the process and is in the Networks hands. Continued->
In all my years of Dowsing the only other person I know you has any kind of real Dowsing ability is my oldest Son. My 22 year old Son can't do it. Sometimes the rods will move pretty well but he cannot do it consistently and fully accurately. I can literally run, not walk, but run, and the rods will work and I guarantee you that there will be something there. Funny, I really never knew how controversial Dowsing is as I could always do it. My Customers are always amazed and they try but they cant
@UncleFeedle That's probably because the people who can't do it are not delusional>>>
Why would you say that? I am not making any type of odd ball claims. All I said is that I have no problem locating underground utilities by using Dowsing Rods. There are no Metal Detectors that can locate plastic underground lines so I do not know any other way to locate them without my Prober or Dowsing rods otherwise we would have to dig up the entire yard at a great expense just to get the job done.

@SamLBInj Visit the JREF website for more information. Hundreds of dowsers have been tested and all have failed to do what they claim. I would STRONGLY urge you to conduct your own controlled test of dowsing before you even think about applying.
I have been Dowsing for almost 45 years and I will be 50 this year. I am a Plumber and own LBI Plumbing & Builders on Long Beach Island NJ or also known as ( L.B.I.) to most people. LBI is an Island 6 miles at sea from the Mainland town of Manahawkin, NJ. You would think that being on an Island would make it pretty hard to use Dowsing as you are completely surrounded by water and you are on a sand bar that has an underground water table that rises and falls with the tide. Next Page->
When you dig you will hit water anywhere from 1' foot to 3' feet depending on the Tide, Moon, Wind, Rain, and also Flood Elevation Height of the area you are standing on.
My Dowsing Ability allows me to Locate Underground Water Service lines from the house to the curb and also in the Street. These lines may be Copper, Poly Plastic, or Steel.
I also can locate Sewer Lines which are usually just an empty pipe made of PVC or ABS, Plastic, Transite, Orangeburg, or Clay. Continued 3 of 4->
@Dowsing4Dollars Fine - demonstrate this under controlled conditions and win a million dollars. Or as is usually the case with you guys, 'there's no need to prove it'?
How do I Demonstrate it? I have done this many times blind folded just for fun.
I do not know why or how it works. I also do not need any special type of rods. I found it amusing when I saw people adding magnets and a lot of other strange ideas. I can just grab my Stainless Steel Prober, Hold the tube handle with the point sticking straight out and it will turn and pull to the underground pipe. The Probe is 4' feet Long and is used to poke through the sand to make sure the pipe is there.
I can also Locate intersections where a Lateral comes off the Main Water Supply line in the Road. This is basically where a Tee is located and I can pick up where the Intersecting Tee is located a few feet underground as the Dowsing Rods will line up at a 90 Degree angle.
I can Locate Underground Natural Gas Lines which are Plastic, Copper, or Steel.
I can also Locate Buried Electrical, Phone, and Cable Lines. Continued 2 of 4->
I have Never Once gone to a Job and not found the Underground Utility Lines I have Looked For.
I have Never had a false reading.
I will be happy to demonstrate my Dowsing Abilities, and there is a very good chance you will see it on TV as we have a Reality TV Show about my Plumbing & Building Business in development at time.
Feel free to Email me at Dowsing4Dollars@Gmail.com Continued 1 of 4->

I liked the end, when Randi says "hah! There you are!!" you can feel he hoped that it was thé 4th or 5th, just too early for him.. Anyway,as usual, nothing! All these pseudo psychics with pseudo powers are fantastically shameless..
I make voltage amplifiers for powder coating aplicators. The pointed metal tips from where electrons depart is steel. These electrons magentize de dielectric plastic powder. Once I changed the tip for that of copper, and the paint went ¡ BOOOM ! This happened an all six amplifiers and had to replace them to customers. Lucky no one was hurt. Anyone for a comment ?
Knowing something is entirely different from believing something. I admit there´s a point. Most of what drives human kind is driven by beliefs: for example. Belief in god, saints, aliens ,life beyond, harry potter, you name it.. None is prooven yet, but belief is there , and in my opinion they are in the right track. for the glory of sckeptics. remember : a new discovered truth will firstly be ridiculized then laughed at.. then it becomes officially a thruth and everybody shuts up.
@UncleFeedle India people would therefore all be short to insane? Beware.. these guys have nukes you know that ? I have a note of ten buck in my pocket. ( I can touch it ) By noon I believe it will be gone. My intuition is pretty much assertive. That I tell you. ( Yours too believe me )
@UncleFeedle Yes, go away!! This is a skeptic cheerleader channel. Please discuss matters elsewhere. All praise to the Randi man and his Randi utterances and his ..........Oh matron!
Actually that is not what a skeptic would do. A skeptic is the one who openly will call down an unfounded idea. Where do you get the definition for sketpism meaning the completely opposite? A skeptic will accept something, once founded. Until they, they are skeptic of it.
I hnow i have ten buck in my pocket ( I am touching it ) I believe that by noon most of those ten bucks will be gone. There is sweet no contradiction there at all. Further.. it is good i am aware of this situation as anyone will agree.
@karslake10 I believe that pink unicorns wage war with candy-floss dragons everytime I face the opposite direction, is that a potential opportunity of truth that'll benefit mankind?
I see you are crossed... By the way that chap in the video seem so me like the one in Bird&fortune...yes it´s him allright.. the video is a set up. I think it´s a fake test....
a representation... a movie. with actors...only to laugh a bit ..Ha Ha Ha ..!!! Tha was a good one... me speaking all the time... Seems Mr James Randi has a lot of time to spare...
Hey mr uncleFeedle: See you got done.. Who did you up? Where did you learn to witch?Which rods did you use? You cant go anywhere finding anything ..and making everyone around you obseve your failures... you got to expertize yourself man .. You got to lose some time doing it...as in everything
@karslake10 I tested it under conditions in which the possibility of success through random chance or cheating was eliminated. Whether you use bent wires, a forked stick, a pendulum, a rod or anything else, if you test it under the same conditions, you will find that dowsing fails.
I know the following don ´t exist: But I do believe in a few of them.;Life after death,Telepathy,God,Jesus son of god, Inmaculate conception of virgin Mary,Divining,Exterioration of the astral body,Predicting the
future, conversations with the dead, aliens, crop circles made by supernatural force,Telekinesis,Traveling to the past,Established fate, witchcraft, will healing,re encarnation, paralel worlds..etc..Hope the little nice guy does not get upset
@karslake10 ...based upon the above types of data. He then presents what he calls "tests" to establish that dowsing is real. The first test involves Schröter again. A Norwegian drilling team dug two wells and each failed to hit water. The dowser came in and allegedly not only hit water but predicted the depth and flow. Apparently, we have the dowser's own word on this. In any case, this is not a test of dowsing, however impressive it might seem.
Respond to this video... In the second test, Betz asserts that dowsers can tell how deep water is because "the relevant biological sensations during dowsing are sufficiently different to allow for the required process of distinction and elimination." He has no evidence for this claim. In any case, in this "test" Schröter again is asked to pick a place to dig a well and again he is successful. This time his well is near a well already dug and known to be a good site.
Every time I tested dowsing, it worked for me, Not exactly finding the treasure i thought (please note ) but finding something specific, and or related, that would have been absolutely imposible to find otherwise. Then I began selling my sticks and my free guide with it . Then related people came asking for more sticks, as the ones previous had worked in some way for those users that recomended them.. That is all I can say about dowsing believe it or not
@karslake10 "Every time I tested dowsing, it worked for me" - you have never tested it under controlled conditions. Dowsing is pure self-deception in which people mistakenly something is happening which actually isn't. Now you even admit that you didn't actually find the target item, but something else! The evidence against dowsing is overwhelming, but you dismiss all of it because you just want to continue believing. You and the people daft enough to buy from you are all kidding yourselves.
What would happen if I get one millon dollars? My life would spiral up insaneness's. I would no be able to drink booth more ;same with flirting with women, eats, sports cars, sailing, hunting, byke riding, trekking, labour quote, traveling, etc... It would complicate my life to insanity . No buy thanks
Just thik of this. I pass the charged pendulum and make three marks upon a map. The chart is 1:25. I´v never been there before. I am residing some 150 miles from the area. When visiting the area I find a one acre dried pond in excatly the marked place N 1. Then i go to the second and there is a small artificiall lake. the third is an underground veign that produced water exactly at 1 meter depth
Skeptics don´t believe. It wont be an afternoons work. Once a sckeptical sees success, he will want another set of proof and then another and another. I been through it. Instead of talking about the million dollars .. go do it for yourself. Learn to use a charged pendulum and learn how to mark aereal maps, get the bum of the chair and go see what generated the energy to make the pendulum mark the chart.
@karslake10 I tried dowsing on several occasions. It failed every time. I don't intend wasting any more time on it until a dowser can demonstrate conclusively that it is an existent phenomenon.
@karslake10 What a bunch of excuses! You dn´t want the million dollars? Then why do you keep selling your sticks? At what point would you stop? $999,999 maybe? Please, do you think we are so dumb to take your excuses at face value?
@ebrobaru Bases of tdowsing test must be different as what has been used so far. Testing dowing is not like testing a lawn mower or a weight scale. German Government tested dowsing with great success. Testing was done in real. If it doesn´t work for you it doesn´t mean it will not work for somebody else as you and the nice little believe. I have made in excess of a million dollars in my work life and that excludes selling sticks
@karslake10 You could design the test alongside Randi to your specifications in advance if you were for real. So, let me get this straight, you have won in excess of a million dollars, so you´re not interested in the MDC for that? Yet, you continue to sell your "sticks". See the problem here? Please refer us to those tests made by the German Government. When, where, by whom? Where is it documented?
@ebrobaru Dear guy : The word "won " does not exactly apply. I earned that money in a life´s work period. I hope you can understand the difference between winning money and earning money. I`d certainly like to design a dowsing testing procedure with Mr Randi. Then you mention.. "we " Is it a gang , a society? All of you fully burnt with the idea that positive is negative. I see that what really bothers you is the fact that I may be right and that `s why the little nice guy sent me off
@karslake10 Thanks for the English Lesson. Sometimes us non-native English speakers tend to mix up some concepts. If you´d really like to design a test with Randi, what´s stopping you? By "we " I mean, people who uses common sense. So if you you want to call it a gang, sure, why not? No, what bothers me is that you speak a lot, but when challenged to to prove your claims, you just keep finding dumb excuses not to do it.
According to Betz, what is both puzzling but enormously useful, is that in hundreds of cases the dowsers were able to predict the depth of the water source and the yield of the well to within 10 to 20 percent. We carefully considered the statistics of these correlations, and they far exceeded lucky guesses. You can check this information in:The Journal of Scientific Exploration Stanford University Stanford, Ca. Stanford, Ca. USA , March 27, 1995

@karslake10 I´ll have to give you credit, though for at the very least, trying to point some links to studies that were documented. Now, let´s see this study closer:
"Further evidence for dowsing has been presented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) [the German Society for Technical Co-operation] sponsored by the German government. "
@karslake10 They claim, for example, that in some of their water dowsing efforts they had success rates above 80% "results which, according to responsible experts, could not be reached by means of classical methods, except with disproportionate input." Of particular interest is a report by University of Munich physicist Hans-Dieter Betz, "Unconventional Water Detection: Field Test of the Dowsing Technique in Dry Zones," published in the Journal of Scientific Exploration in 1995.
@karslake10 (This is the same Betz who, with J. L. König, authored a book in 1989 on German government tests proving the ability of dowsers to detect E-rays.) The report covers a ten-year period and over 2000 drillings in Sri Lanka, Zaire, Kenya, Namibia, Yemen and other countries. Especially impressive was an overall success rate of 96 percent achieved in 691 drillings in Sri Lanka. "Based on geological experience in that area, a success rate of 30-50 percent.....
Respond to this video... would be expected from conventional techniques alone," according to Betz. How he arrived at that statistic is unknown, especially since Sri Lanka gets 100-200 inches (2,500-5,000 mm) of rain a year.* "What is both puzzling yet enormously useful is that in hundreds of cases the dowsers were able to predict the depth of the water source and the yield of the well to within 10 or 20 percent. We carefully considered the statistics of these correlations...
Respond to this video... ...and they far exceeded lucky guesses." Betz ruled out chance and the use of landscape and geological features by dowsers as explanations for their success. He also ruled out "some unknown biological sensitivity to water." Betz thinks that there may be "subtle electromagnetic gradients" resulting from fissures and water flows which create changes in the electrical properties of rock and soil. Dowsers, he thinks, somehow sense these gradients ....
@ebrobaru Unfortunately, this dowsing test in this video is not a genuine, dowsing test and therefore, supports nothing. Putting an item on 1 of the 7 boxes is not a legitimate test for dowsing since the number of boxes is simply too small to be considered statistically significant. In addition, the odds of getting an item from only 1 shot is P=0.2857, so no evidence of or against dowsing can be drawn from this test.....
@IceAges14Aces Exactly and that is Randi all over. People should realise that he utilises the same methods time and time again to put the odds in his favour. Not that some of his participants aren't fakes - some undoubtedly are - but Randi is just a "scientific" charlatan in my opinion just as Arthur C. Clarke was.
@ebrobaru Umm, did I say I hated him? No, I didn't mention the word hate but I wonder if that is what is on your mind as someone has actually dared to criticise YOUR "hero"? My heroes are nice people like John Lennon etc. Anyway, debunk? I have yet to see him debunk anybody accurately. He even offers a disclaimer in his books to the effect that he could be wrong. Hardly someone who has the courage of his convictions much like yourself.
@SuperBC10 Yes, he can be wrong and he admits it. Unlike frauds like this one. So far, nobody has shown to have any powers at all. You haven´t seen him debunk anyone? I guess you haven´t looked very thoroughloy since most of his videos are of that
Respond to this video... ...in a hypersensitive state. "I'm a scientist," says Betz, "and those are my best plausible scientific hypotheses at this point....we have established that dowsing works, but have no idea how or why." Of course, it is possible that his dowsers are smarter than Betz and look for obvious signs of water like places where the grass is greener and lowest points in the terrain. There are some puzzling elements to Betz's conclusions, however.
@karslake10 Most of his claims concern a single dowser named Schröter. Who observed this dowser or what conditions he worked under remain unknown. Betz is a physicist and what knowledge he has of hydrogeology is unknown. Furthermore, Betz's speculation that dowsers are hypersensitive to subtle electromagnetic gradients does not seem to be based upon scientific data. In any case, the hypothesis was not tested and I am not sure how one would go about testing such a claim.
Respond to this video... At the very least, one would expect that geological instruments would be able to detect such "electromagnetic gradients." When others have done controlled tests of dowsers, the dowsers do no better than chance and no better than non-dowsers (Vogt and Hyman; Hyman; Enright 1995, 1996; Randi 1995). Some of Betz's data are certainly not scientific, e.g., the subjective evaluations of Schröter regarding his own dowsing activities.
Respond to this video... Much of the data is little more than a report that dowsing was used by Schröter and he was successful in locating water. Betz assumes that chance or scientific hydrogeological procedures would not have produced the same or better results. It may be true that in one area they had a 96% success rate using dowsing techniques and that "no prospecting area with comparable sub-soil conditions is known where such outstanding results have ever been attained."
Respond to this video... However, this means nothing for establishing that dowsing had anything to do with the success. Analogous sub-soil condition seems to be an insufficient similarity to justify concluding that dowsing, rather than chance, or use of landscape or geological features, must account for the success rate. Betz seems to have realized that without some sort of testing, reasonable people would not accept that it had been established that dowsing is a real phenomena...
@ebrobaru In the second test, Betz asserts that dowsers can tell how deep water is because "the relevant biological sensations during dowsing are sufficiently different to allow for the required process of distinction and elimination." He has no evidence for this claim. In any case, in this "test" Schröter again is asked to pick a place to dig a well and again he is successful. This time his well is near a well already dug and known to be a good site.
Respond to this video... based upon the above types of data.
@ebrobaru Betz claims that there were some geological formations that would have made the dowser's predictions difficult, but again this was not a scientific test of dowsing.
The third test was a kind of contest between the dowser and a team of hydrogeologists. The scientific team, about whom we are told nothing significant, studied an area and picked 14 places to drill. The dowser then went over the same area after the scientific team had made their choices and he picked 7 sites to drill.
@ebrobaru (Why they did not both pick the same number of sites is not explained.) A site yielding 100 liters per minute was considered good. The hydrogeologists hit three good sources; the dowser hit six. Clearly, the dowser won the contest. This test does not prove anything about dowsing, however. Nevertheless, I think Herr Schröter should knock on James Randi's door and be allowed to prove his paranormal powers under controlled conditions. If he is as good as he and Betz say he is...
Betz has written a very long report, which is little more than a testimonial to the paranormal dowsing powers of Herr Schröter and a reiteration of the claims made for the barn study.
@ebrobaru He would have done better to have set up a controlled, double-blind experiment with the dowser, one which does not allow the dowser himself to determine the conditions of the experiment and one which did not have as many uncontrollable variables as those rampant in the ten-year project.
I will confide my secret: Customer comes and examines my sticks. He says he don´t believe bulshit. I say draw a scketch of your property leaving the water well and water tanks or containers out. I grab my pendulum and in 10 seconds I mark the place where his well is. Customers jaw drops and buys my sticks..... This is called tele-dowsing and I call it mind reading.
How commerce funnctions , customers are protected with return , money back no questions asked policy. I currently offer this policy on all my produces. Let me tell you that there have been no returns at all on my sticks and manual. However long back , customers demanded proof and I remember giving proof, and every time I succeeded thus completing the sale.
@karslake10 Your 'proof' is provided under conditions in which it is possible to easily succeed through random chance. In addition to that, people are very easily fooled and led to believe things that aren't actually true.
Some people claim to have seen aliens. I have not , but don´t discard the fact. I simple don´t think about it, nor I discuss the matter. Same with the existence of saints and even god... Because there is no scentific proof ( and there is believe eme) you can´t say it does not exist...
@karslake10 Thinking about it is one thing. But if you're selling your supposed dowsing knowledge and services, you deserve to have your claims questioned. People have a right to be protected from frauds.
What is this scientific proof? There is no known scientific validation of dowsing.
"you can´t say it does not exist" - here we go again. The same old ridiculous prove-a-negative argument. YOU are the one making a claim. The burden of proof lies with you to back it up with evidence.
I don´t undestand how that Mr J Randi takes a dowser into an audience and proceeds to test him cold then and there. He should have done the bloody experiment before handed and evaluate the situation..and then if the experiment qualified for public appearence orn not. It was a bloody set up.
@karslake10 The dowser agreed to the conditions of the test beforehand. This is true of all tests conducted by the JREF. The failure was the dowser's own fault.
@karslake10 Why don´t you prove it to Randi? Shut up skeptics once and for all, change the world of physics as we know it and becoming a millionaire in the process. No bad for an afternoon of your time
There was no evidence for 200 years that smoking produced cancer. Then all of a sudden cience knew that it did. Did it not? For 200 years cience could not find an adecuate method to state that nicotine produced cancer. I believe that some 200 years will elapse until some nitwit states that human brain can sniff water
@karslake10 "There was no evidence for 200 years that smoking produced cancer." - this is not so. The evidence was always there, we just didn't recognise that the two were connected until the 1950's. Hardly surprising, since cancer wasn't even properly understood until the 20th century.
If dowsing works as you claim, you should be able to provide evidence of this, but you won't. Incidentally, belief in dowsing has been around for longer than 200 years, and mere belief doesn't make it true.
@karslake10 It's not a question of what one thinks, it's a question of facts. There is no evidence anywhere to indicate that either dowsing or mind-reading have any basis in reality whatsoever.
Because of this i recommend non believers to learn to use a map pendulum, and let it react upon the map to make some markings. Then go to those places to see what the hell lies there. Then and only then will the person begin to believe in this strange non cientific aproach to find things
understanding that the dowsing instrument will react to the users subconcious and that there is extreme poor conection to concious part of the individuals brain, one cannot but to expect poor results in trying to find something. However there is some weir ability in the brain of humans to sniff the water. And in some cases...OTHER THINGS !
OK. I understand: Look. you are right in what you say.. Dowsers will always blame something for their failures. Problem mainly is that users expect full efficiency and believe that the little stick will render them inmense treasures. It don´t. To some it does.
@karslake10 If you can state the limitations of dowsing, the conditions it requires to work and the degree of accuracy which can be expected, it can be tested. However, when tested correctly, dowsing produces the results you would expect from random chance. This has been shown repeatedly. What typically happens then is the dowser is initially baffled, comes out with some excuse to explain it and continues to believe, despite all the evidence against it.
Your pre set opinion of dowsing plus the one in the audience completele nuetralized de poor buggers ability. It was a surprise to me that he did not find the piece of metal in his last attemt.. HA HA HA...!!!!!
Take a good laugh... I wrote a book on dowsing... have sold rods...So many of them I lost the count. Not a single complaint.. on the contrary , saw numerous clients make millions... and in this desk I have seen many many gold coins from satisfied clients exhibiting their finds. No way to think I am defrauding
@karslake10 Then why can't you or any other dowser ever provide a simple successful demonstration? What's the excuse this time - Leylines? Negative vibrations? Phases of the moon? Magnetic interference? Tidal action? Remnancing? Misaligned chakras? Bad energy from skeptics interfering with the process? Astrological signs? I've heard them all.
A customer will ask me to spot the place where his well is located in his home in the country. I take the charged pendulum and make a cross upon the scketch. He then finds it unvelievable that i can do this. Fact is that My subconcious reads his subconcious and learned from his mind where the well lies. This is not exactly dowsing.
@karslake10 Now you're talking about some kind of mind-reading. A demonstration of that would be even more earth-shattering than dowsing. Like all the rest, you're all talk, no evidence.
@UncleFeedle Used to proove it to clients in front of my nose.. and then the client would tos a handfull of notes into my face.. Please believe me in what i say.
@UncleFeedle Mind readers exist you know? Yo find some MEIKA or WITCH and she wil tell you that your father departed in an accident that you mother has leukemia and that you cheated your wife.. This is mind reading... when she says that you will win the lottery , this is bullshit.
@karslake10 No thanks - dowsing failed every time I tried it. I don't believe you have any idea of what is meant by a controlled test. Even if you don't care about winning the JREF's million dollar prize, if you can demonstrate what you claim under proper observing conditions, it would be an incredible discovery, utterly transforming our understanding of physics. If you won't do it for yourself, do it for mankind. If you won't do that, I say you are delusional.
No way to make downing work on artificial tests as sample will not flood the location with sufficient energy as happens with long term elements in nature. Further, when toying around with tests, all locations will become contamintated witn remmant imaging foooling the user beyond capability to differentiate.
@karslake10 If dowsing has limitations that you can specify and if it provides results greater than one would expect from random chance, it can be tested in a controlled manner.
Second best way to convince someone is to apply the non charged pendulum upon a map upon an area you´ d never been. Then let the pendulum make one or two marks. Go the place and find what was marked.. You will then surprise yourself, not to mention that you will become very confused .Then you will want to go finding more and also you will want learn about dowsing more
@UncleFeedle 1.- Absolutely. Go find those water outlets with tele-dowsing.. you´ll find them in exact location plus minus a few meters.
2.- First thing is easy to locate is water. 2.-Then second thing is water mixed with metal such as water outlets. 3.- Water formed cristals and mineral cristals... 4.- Places where dwelled thoughts same as the operators thinking. Here I insist in locating points in a map with the pendulum and going to find out what is causing that spot react...
@karslake10 Fine. According to you, dowsing provides results greater than chance within certain known limitations. Therefore, it can be tested in a controlled manner. Of course, you will never attempt to do this, and like other dowsers, will instead come up with some rationalization to exempt it.
@UncleFeedle Dowsing is entirely misunderstood to this very day. I will be brief.
Best way to understand dowsing is to teach a user, any user, to use a loaded pendulum upon a map.Load the pendulum with water. Tap water. Use a street directory and make him ( or you) mark all the street firemen water outlets upon this street map, of course upon an area he had never been.. Then go find is the info is right. In my case I spotted 28 taps, found 27
what exactly is he debunking? i do a lot of home remodeling and regularly use dowsing rods to find buried water lines before digging (not the same type as this guy though, but 2 steel wires bent at 90 degrees). it's very accurate (to the fraction of an inch). the phenomena was explained to me as: the water causes some turbulence in the earth's magnetic field that causes sort of a "low magnetic pressure" area right above even very small amounts of water that cause the wires to cross.
@stephenvaldes It appears to work because you are doing it under highly favourable conditions. Try testing it under controlled conditions ie. a test designed to eliminate the possibility of success through mere mathematical chance or cheating. You will find that it fails.
This trick was made huge during the "Great Depression". It was a way for people to scam money in a dark time. I am shocked the people would still believe this. Dowsing has never "Proven Itself" ever.

Just looking for a scientific answer. Not Magic.
SamLBInj 4 months ago
@SamLBInj You can't consciously look for your own subconscious behaviour. A subconscious movement means you're doing it without being aware of it. This means that even if you are trying to prevent it, it still appears to be happening on it's own. In dowsing, the tiniest, imperceptible movement is enough to cause a response. Ideomotor reaction is your scientific answer. Of course, you won't accept this and instead go on believing it's due to something completely unproven, as all dowsers do.
UncleFeedle 4 months ago 23
I agree with all of you about the safety of my men. I would never put them at risk and they kn ow that. Most of them have worked for me for close to 20 years.
As I have stated before, I have never once not located an underground utility. Every single time they dig it is there.
I also call the Mandatory Underground Utility dig lines and have also helped them locate mismarked lines.
I am only looking for answers, thats all.

@SamLBInj Your apparently positive results are obtained under conditions which are skewed in your favour. @SamLBInj It isn't about personal insults. A lot of people here don't believe in dowsing, that those who practice it are believing in something that is quite imaginary.

UncleFeedle 4 months ago
I have been Dowsing for almost 45 years and I will be 50 this year. I am a Plumber and own LBI Plumbing & Builders on Long Beach Island NJ or also known as ( L.B.I.) to most people. LBI is an Island 6 miles at sea from the Mainland town of Manahawkin, NJ. You would think that being on an Island would make it pretty hard to use Dowsing as you are completely surrounded by water and you are on a sand bar that has an underground water table that rises and falls with the tide. Next Page->
Dowsing4Dollars 4 months ago
When you dig you will hit water anywhere from 1' foot to 3' feet depending on the Tide, Moon, Wind, Rain, and also Flood Elevation Height of the area you are standing on.
My Dowsing Ability allows me to Locate Underground Water Service lines from the house to the curb and also in the Street. These lines may be Copper, Poly Plastic, or Steel.
I also can locate Sewer Lines which are usually just an empty pipe made of PVC or ABS, Plastic, Transite, Orangeburg, or Clay. Continued 3 of 4->
Dowsing4Dollars 4 months ago
@Dowsing4Dollars Fine - demonstrate this under controlled conditions and win a million dollars. Or as is usually the case with you guys, 'there's no need to prove it'?
UncleFeedle 4 months ago
How do I Demonstrate it? I have done this many times blind folded just for fun.
I do not know why or how it works. I also do not need any special type of rods. I found it amusing when I saw people adding magnets and a lot of other strange ideas. I can just grab my Stainless Steel Prober, Hold the tube handle with the point sticking straight out and it will turn and pull to the underground pipe. The Probe is 4' feet Long and is used to poke through the sand to make sure the pipe is there.
SamLBInj 4 months ago

I can also Locate intersections where a Lateral comes off the Main Water Supply line in the Road. This is basically where a Tee is located and I can pick up where the Intersecting Tee is located a few feet underground as the Dowsing Rods will line up at a 90 Degree angle.
I can Locate Underground Natural Gas Lines which are Plastic, Copper, or Steel.
I can also Locate Buried Electrical, Phone, and Cable Lines. Continued 2 of 4->
Dowsing4Dollars 4 months ago
@Dowsing4Dollars I can levitate into the air. However I will not demonstrate this under controlled conditions, because:
1. There's no need - my power has already proven itself
2. Randi's test is rigged
3. The million dollars doesn't exist
4. People have believed in levitation for years therefore there must be something to it
5. There are historical anecodotes of other people levitating
6. Scientists studying quantum mechanics say really weird things can happen
Therefore my claim is true.

In any case, this is not a test of dowsing, however impressive it might seem.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
Respond to this video... In the second test, Betz asserts that dowsers can tell how deep water is because "the relevant biological sensations during dowsing are sufficiently different to allow for the required process of distinction and elimination." He has no evidence for this claim. In any case, in this "test" Schröter again is asked to pick a place to dig a well and again he is successful. This time his well is near a well already dug and known to be a good site.

@karslake10 "Every time I tested dowsing, it worked for me" - you have never tested it under controlled conditions. Skeptics don´t believe. It wont be an afternoons work. Once a sckeptical sees success, he will want another set of proof and then another and another. I been through it. Instead of talking about the million dollars .. go do it for yourself. Learn to use a charged pendulum and learn how to mark aereal maps, get the bum of the chair and go see what generated the energy to make the pendulum mark the chart.
karslake10 6 months ago
@karslake10 I tried dowsing on several occasions. It failed every time. I don't intend wasting any more time on it until a dowser can demonstrate conclusively that it is an existent phenomenon.
UncleFeedle 6 months ago
@karslake10 What a bunch of excuses! You dn´t want the million dollars? Then why do you keep selling your sticks? At what point would you stop? $999,999 maybe? Please, do you think we are so dumb to take your excuses at face value?
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru Bases of tdowsing test must be different as what has been used so far. Testing dowing is not like testing a lawn mower or a weight scale. German Government tested dowsing with great success. Testing was done in real. If it doesn´t work for you it doesn´t mean it will not work for somebody else as you and the nice little believe. I have made in excess of a million dollars in my work life and that excludes selling sticks
karslake10 6 months ago
@karslake10 You could design the test alongside Randi to your specifications in advance if you were for real. So, let me get this straight, you have won in excess of a million dollars, so you´re not interested in the MDC for that? Yet, you continue to sell your "sticks". See the problem here? Please refer us to those tests made by the German Government. When, where, by whom? Where is it documented?
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru Dear guy : The word "won " does not exactly apply. I earned that money in a life´s work period. I hope you can understand the difference between winning money and earning money. I`d certainly like to design a dowsing testing procedure with Mr Randi. Then you mention.. "we " Is it a gang , a society? All of you fully burnt with the idea that positive is negative. I see that what really bothers you is the fact that I may be right and that `s why the little nice guy sent me off
karslake10 6 months ago
@karslake10 Thanks for the English Lesson. Sometimes us non-native English speakers tend to mix up some concepts. If you´d really like to design a test with Randi, what´s stopping you? By "we " I mean, people who uses common sense. So if you you want to call it a gang, sure, why not? No, what bothers me is that you speak a lot, but when challenged to to prove your claims, you just keep finding dumb excuses not to do it.

There`s the report of a ten year project by the
German Government; a project that involved over
2000 drillings in Sri Lanka, Zaire, Kenya, Namibia,
Yemen and other countries and is thus the most
ambitious experiment with water dowsing ever carried
out.
The outcome was striking. An overall success rate of
96% (by dowsers) was achieved in 691 drillings in Sri
Lanka.
karslake10 6 months ago
According to Betz, what is both puzzling
but enormously useful, is that in hundreds of cases
the dowsers were able to predict the depth of the
water source and the yield of the well to within 10 to
20 percent. We carefully considered the statistics of
these correlations, and they far exceeded lucky
guesses.

ebrobaru 6 months ago
@karslake10 They claim, for example, that in some of their water dowsing efforts they had success rates above 80% "results which, according to responsible experts, could not be reached by means of classical methods, except with disproportionate input." Of particular interest is a report by University of Munich physicist Hans-Dieter Betz, "Unconventional Water Detection: Field Test of the Dowsing Technique in Dry Zones," published in the Journal of Scientific Exploration in 1995.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@karslake10 (This is the same Betz who, with J. L. König, authored a book in 1989 on German government tests proving the ability of dowsers to detect E-rays.) The report covers a ten-year period and over 2000 drillings in Sri Lanka, Zaire, Kenya, Namibia, Yemen and other countries. Especially impressive was an overall success rate of 96 percent achieved in 691 drillings in Sri Lanka. "Based on geological experience in that area, a success rate of 30-50 percent.....
ebrobaru 6 months ago
Respond to this video... would be expected from conventional techniques alone," according to Betz. We carefully considered the statistics of these correlations...
ebrobaru 6 months ago
Respond to this video... ...and they far exceeded lucky guesses." Betz ruled out chance and the use of landscape and geological features by dowsers as explanations for their success. He also ruled out "some unknown biological sensitivity to water." Betz thinks that there may be "subtle electromagnetic gradients" resulting from fissures and water flows which create changes in the electrical properties of rock and soil. Dowsers, he thinks, somehow sense these gradients ....
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru Unfortunately, this dowsing test in this video is not a genuine, dowsing test and therefore, supports nothing. Putting an item on 1 of the 7 boxes is not a legitimate test for dowsing since the number of boxes is simply too small to be considered statistically significant. In addition, the odds of getting an item from only 1 shot is P=0.2857, so no evidence of or against dowsing can be drawn from this test.....
IceAges14Aces 3 months ago
@IceAges14Aces This was just a simple demostration, of course a more stringent test would be needed
ebrobaru 3 months ago
@IceAges14Aces Exactly and that is Randi all over. People should realise that he utilises the same methods time and time again to put the odds in his favour. Not that some of his participants aren't fakes - some undoubtedly are - but Randi is just a "scientific" charlatan in my opinion just as Arthur C. Clarke was.

@SuperBC10 Yes, he can be wrong and he admits it. Unlike frauds like this one. So far, nobody has shown to have any powers at all. You haven´t seen him debunk anyone? I guess you haven´t looked very thoroughloy since most of his videos are of that
ebrobaru 1 month ago
Respond to this video... ...in a hypersensitive state. "I'm a scientist," says Betz, "and those are my best plausible scientific hypotheses at this point....we have established that dowsing works, but have no idea how or why." Of course, it is possible that his dowsers are smarter than Betz and look for obvious signs of water like places where the grass is greener and lowest points in the terrain. There are some puzzling elements to Betz's conclusions, however.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@karslake10 Most of his claims concern a single dowser named Schröter. Who observed this dowser or what conditions he worked under remain unknown. Betz is a physicist and what knowledge he has of hydrogeology is unknown. Furthermore, Betz's speculation that dowsers are hypersensitive to subtle electromagnetic gradients does not seem to be based upon scientific data. In any case, the hypothesis was not tested and I am not sure how one would go about testing such a claim.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
Respond to this video... Some of Betz's data are certainly not scientific, e.g., the subjective evaluations of Schröter regarding his own dowsing activities.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
Respond to this video... Much of the data is little more than a report that dowsing was used by Schröter and he was successful in locating water. Betz assumes that chance or scientific hydrogeological procedures would not have produced the same or better results. It may be true that in one area they had a 96% success rate using dowsing techniques and that "no prospecting area with comparable sub-soil conditions is known where such outstanding results have ever been attained."
ebrobaru 6 months ago
Respond to this video... However, this means nothing for establishing that dowsing had anything to do with the success. Analogous sub-soil condition seems to be an insufficient similarity to justify concluding that dowsing, rather than chance, or use of landscape or geological features, must account for the success rate. Betz seems to have realized that without some sort of testing, reasonable people would not accept that it had been established that dowsing is a real phenomena...
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru In the second test, Betz asserts that dowsers can tell how deep water is because "the relevant biological sensations during dowsing are sufficiently different to allow for the required process of distinction and elimination." He has no evidence for this claim. In any case, in this "test" Schröter again is asked to pick a place to dig a well and again he is successful. This time his well is near a well already dug and known to be a good site.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
Respond to this video... based upon the above types of data. In any case, this is not a test of dowsing, however impressive it might seem.
ebrobaru 1 sec ago
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru Betz claims that there were some geological formations that would have made the dowser's predictions difficult, but again this was not a scientific test of dowsing.
The third test was a kind of contest between the dowser and a team of hydrogeologists. The scientific team, about whom we are told nothing significant, studied an area and picked 14 places to drill. The dowser then went over the same area after the scientific team had made their choices and he picked 7 sites to drill.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru (Why they did not both pick the same number of sites is not explained.) A site yielding 100 liters per minute was considered good. The hydrogeologists hit three good sources; the dowser hit six. Clearly, the dowser won the contest. This test does not prove anything about dowsing, however. Nevertheless, I think Herr Schröter should knock on James Randi's door and be allowed to prove his paranormal powers under controlled conditions. If he is as good as he and Betz say he is...
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru ...he should walk away a very rich man.
Betz has written a very long report, which is little more than a testimonial to the paranormal dowsing powers of Herr Schröter and a reiteration of the claims made for the barn study.
ebrobaru 6 months ago
@ebrobaru He would have done better to have set up a controlled, double-blind experiment with the dowser, one which does not allow the dowser himself to determine the conditions of the experiment and one which did not have as many uncontrollable variables as those rampant in the ten-year project.

There was no evidence for 200 years that smoking produced cancer. Then all of a sudden cience knew that it did. Did it not? For 200 years cience could not find an adecuate method to state that nicotine produced cancer. I believe that some 200 years will elapse until some nitwit states that human brain can sniff water
karslake10 6 months ago
@karslake10 "There was no evidence for 200 years that smoking produced cancer." - this is not so. The evidence was always there, we just didn't recognise that the two were connected until the 1950's. Hardly surprising, since cancer wasn't even properly understood until the 20th century.
If dowsing works as you claim, you should be able to provide evidence of this, but you won't. Incidentally, belief in dowsing has been around for longer than 200 years, and mere belief doesn't make it true.

understanding that the dowsing instrument will react to the users subconcious and that there is extreme poor conection to concious part of the individuals brain, one cannot but to expect poor results in trying to find something.

It don´t. To some it does.
karslake10 6 months ago
@karslake10 If you can state the limitations of dowsing, the conditions it requires to work and the degree of accuracy which can be expected, it can be tested. However, when tested correctly, dowsing produces the results you would expect from random chance. This has been shown repeatedly. What typically happens then is the dowser is initially baffled, comes out with some excuse to explain it and continues to believe, despite all the evidence against it.

Second best way to convince someone is to apply the non charged pendulum upon a map upon an area you´ d never been. Then let the pendulum make one or two marks. Go the place and find what was marked.. You will then surprise yourself, not to mention that you will become very confused .Then you will want to go finding more and also you will want learn about dowsing more
karslake10 6 months ago
@karslake10 What you're describing is nowhere near a legitimate test. Two questions for you:
1. Does dowsing produce results which exceed what you would expect from purely random guessing?
2. What are the limitations of dowsing?
UncleFeedle 6 months ago
@UncleFeedle 1.- Absolutely. Go find those water outlets with tele-dowsing.. you´ll find them in exact location plus minus a few meters.
2.- First thing is easy to locate is water. 2.-Then second thing is water mixed with metal such as water outlets. 3.- Water formed cristals and mineral cristals... 4.- Places where dwelled thoughts same as the operators thinking. Here I insist in locating points in a map with the pendulum and going to find out what is causing that spot react...
karslake10 6 months ago
@karslake10 Fine. According to you, dowsing provides results greater than chance within certain known limitations. Therefore, it can be tested in a controlled manner. Of course, you will never attempt to do this, and like other dowsers, will instead come up with some rationalization to exempt it.
UncleFeedle 6 months ago
@UncleFeedle Dowsing is entirely misunderstood to this very day. I will be brief.
Best way to understand dowsing is to teach a user, any user, to use a loaded pendulum upon a map.Load the pendulum with water. Tap water. Use a street directory and make him ( or you) mark all the street firemen water outlets upon this street map, of course upon an area he had never been.. Then go find is the info is right. In my case I spotted 28 taps, found 27

what exactly is he debunking? i do a lot of home remodeling and regularly use dowsing rods to find buried water lines before digging (not the same type as this guy though, but 2 steel wires bent at 90 degrees). it's very accurate (to the fraction of an inch). the phenomena was explained to me as: the water causes some turbulence in the earth's magnetic field that causes sort of a "low magnetic pressure" area right above even very small amounts of water that cause the wires to cross.
stephenvaldes 6 months ago
@stephenvaldes It appears to work because you are doing it under highly favourable conditions. Try testing it under controlled conditions ie. a test designed to eliminate the possibility of success through mere mathematical chance or cheating. You will find that it fails.
