I rode 555 for the 4th time this past weekend, top to bottom and bottom to top. Calling it "Ohio's version of Tail of the Dragon" is very misleading. This road is something entirely different. It's more unpredictable and challenging. It has gravel, bad pavement, improper banking, blind corners and blind rises followed by sharply decreasing radius turns. It's definitely a good workout, and fun if you approach it as a challenge. continued...
It's not a fast road in the tight areas (although I gotta say you were taking it verrrrrrry slow in this video). The south end is nice sweepers, but nothing special. The north is nothing special. The center is where the action is, and it is extremely technical. Definitely worth the trip if you live in Ohio.

My and my buddy Dug rode this about 2 weeks ago. We couldn't go very fast between the toothless hillbillies driving on the wrong side of the road, senseless truck drivers and road apples from Amish horses. I would rather be called names for riding too slow than go home in a bodybag.
First, trailer? The only time mine would be trailered it better be following the ambulance.
Secondly, I don't recall seeing any footage of 555 on your page? Just a long boring freeway, with 4 lanes and no gravel. The thing you DON'T see in the video is the huge strips of gravel that the autos kicked up, not to mention the blind turns over the hills. BTW, I am the cruiser in front, and if I did take it any faster, by pegs would have levered me up. Ask anyone about my riding skill that knows me.

GREAT ROAD! Like riding a roller coaster.
Hwy 129 is a twisty up the side of a mountain! It was AWESOME too.
Yet, leaving a riding buddy behind .. that needs more thought ..

Route 555 is a sick road. We trailer our rockets up there every year. However we take it a lot faster than these candy-asses do.
