  • I'm 16. I just figured out I have one of these terrible things today. It started back a few weeks ago when I notice that area would bleed alot when I would sit down low.

Since I skate, I take alot of impact to that area. I'm sure that's what caused it. If any of you guys know if the surgery costs alot or not, I'd be more than thankful to hear from you.

  • @GaryV You're totally right! Words cannot describe how thankful I am to have tried this acne solution :) This helped me brought my confidence up to where it was before when I had my acne problem... Anyways, I think you interchange the name of the site.. Its StopAcneNow.co.cc

  • Yramadol nights

  • Reading these comments, i'm just glad our health service is free and i'll be paid while i recover. Can't wait for the pain... Youtube search tramadol nights and listen to dr frankie boyle explain it.

  • I had an Abscess they said mine was not a cyst. I have had tattoos and when they were cutting it and packing it I bit the pillow. It hurt SO BAD.

  • My Pilonidal Cyst was the worst thing that happened to me. and I've been shot before.

  • im sorry for those you have it.i had one and im speechless

  • I like the ironing board in the background...

  • Is this guy for real??

  • aaeeeeyyyyoh tu kya bolta , idli, saaambara, massalle dosay rangaswamy, yende, vende.........do u live in the sacro coxigal area of sri lanka, ur a legend

  • no u fucker

the only solution is surgery that;s it

  • can this be related to spinal birth defects as well ?

    Meningocele

The protective coatings (meninges) come through the open part of the spine like a sac that is pushed out. Cerebrospinal fluid is in the sac and there is usually no nerve damage. Individuals may suffer minor disabilities. Additional problems can develop later in life.

  • i would say its most common in INDIANS! they have mongrove forest all over their bodies!!!!

  • @hfzmu I dont think this Doctor is making up that statistic. It probably has less to do with hair and more with a general aspect of physiology.

  • @backwoodsctryboy Ignorant Fuck Boy...

  • @backwoodsctryboy RACITST !!!???

  • Boom!

  • OMG YOU ARE SO CUTEEEEEE

  • so question, i think i have a pilonidal cyst, thing is, it would only bleed when i sat down, but it never hurt... i soon forgot about it, it stopped bleeding, but i got an itch there and found out it turned into a hole? why'd this happen? and will it go away or should i do something about it / self treatment?

  • @ontheveofwarr yeah dude you need to have that excised.

  • @ontheveofwarr Mine started the same. Go to the doctor before it gets worse, i waited and it got worse D:

  • @ontheveofwarr Having a pilonidal cyst sucks! I had it when i was 17. Mine started with the itch and it did feel like it turned into a hole. My doctor told me it would never heal with any medication. So I had it surgically removed. The bad thing is that it takes a few months after surgery for the wound to heal up!

  • @YaariJattDi5 fuck!

  • @YaariJattDi5 mine didnt have hole my was by the tailbone and my has something like zip boil looking and they cut that in emergency than 4 days later doctor look again and tell me to get surgery so i got the surgery on jan 10 but they do sttiches which 1 is worse the hole or i had like a zip it was draining now i dont have any pains i do some bandages and it says i can take shower but i dindt take 1 yet its been 5 days but my surgery area looks good doctor say less chance to repat but still wo

  • bodytranslator - search for this word in google...

  • Very informative. English is pretty good as well: just a little hard to understand the pronunciation at times. Thanks.

  • This is an awful disease. I have had it for 10 years. I can't afford 10 weeks out of work so I suffer with this every day.

  • I had this when i was 18. After several drainage treatments in the doctor's office, I had to have it surgically removed. I was told it was the size of an orange. I remember waking up with a lot of packing. I stayed in the hospital for 3 days. It has never returned and now I'm in my forties. They sacrificed my coccyx, but that's never bothered me, and pain is gone. I encourage surgery asap. The downside was the very long scar it left, and a shorten butt crack, lol.

  • @purplefred67 So let me get this straight they removed your tailbone? I'm pretty sure you have no idea what you're talking about.

  • Comment removed

  • @ongkhan -Actually I DO know what I am talking about. The coccyx is the tiny bone that is attached to your spine. It stop generally around the top of your buttock crack. Because my cyst was wrapped around it, they removed it along with the cyst. This has been confirmed on xray since I always get remarks about it missing when I have had to have xrays. You can live without it and it will never bother you. If yours keeps draining and does not heal than surgery is the option.

  • OMG That hurts soooo bad! no one knows unless you have had one.

  • This is a Srilankan Evil bastard who make rumours.See his face no charishma at all

  • im 17 and a girl. ive had mine for about 3 years now. when it first started hurting i didnt know what it was but then it started bleeding and i guess the blood had puss too. my doctor referred me to a specialist but all he said was to take the antibiotics and that it should decrease theinfection. apparently it can come back even with surgery. i had one on my back before and im familiar with the pain of packing it, but im not sure if i can handle it in that specific area ):

  • I started having "this pain" about 4-5 days ago. Initially, i thought its a benign back pain, but now i have realized its a pilonidal cyst. I have this hard, painful nodule on the upper end of my right butt cheek. Its not red/inflamed and you cant really tell visually. Three days ago, I also started having fevers. I am seriously in denial right now. I have this drop of hope that maybe it will just go away. Can a PCP drain this or will it require a surgeon?

  • @scriptase I have had a pilonidal cyst condition, is the cyst/abscess draining blood and/or pus?

  • I just got my abscess drained two days ago, and was told after my wound heals...surgery is next.THE PAIN IS NO JOKE!!!!

"packing" the wound is SOOOOO painful! I've never cried so hard before ='(

I've been popping pain medication like skittles.

i'm NOT looking forward to the surgery....

QUESTION: U think a full time student can still handle a semester of school while going through this whole procedure???

I sit with my doctor next week, but i'm anxious to know now.

  • @mekeda05 I am a student who had this surgery, what happened was that they didnt do it properly the first time(before exams), the packing still hurt like hell. I had to go in for a resurgery right after exams, and had to miss 2 weeks of my second semester, and believe me, it sucks. Lots of work to catch up on, and the packing hurts like crazy. I had to go through it 2 times!

Anyways, Good luck, and I hope your doctor removes it properly :)

  • stu strunzu sta legge subbra lu computer

  • I wouldn't wish this kind of pain on my worst enemy!

  • @ScaperSteph i said that earlier today to a coworker

  • I have a little hole not big enough for something to fit in but it stinks can you die from it

  • I don't think you can die from it.

  • @Woodpipemaker

You can't die from the cyst itself. It can be incredibly painful though. I had one a few years ago. I reached a point that I could barely walk at all, and my speech was starting to slur. So it isn't lethal, just very painful. HOWEVER, due to the proximity to the spine, there is a considerable risk if an infection starts to spread. If an infection spreads to your spine, you could develop spinal meningitis, which can spread to the brain. If that happens, you're in serious trouble.

  • mine was a hole that burned and bleed i had it removed then 2 years later it came back only it was a lump the 2nd time

  • I have this condition too. But the absess is still deep in the skin according to the doctor. So I have to wait that the abcess come up and says hello so the doctor can drain it and remove the thing. I got it because of sitting too much...i'm at exame fase in the university...you can imagine how bad timming this is. I'm taking a anti-inflamatory and anti-biotics (onde in capsuls and other is a gel to put in the area) and of course painkillers. I was rly hoping to get rid of this without surgery..

  • this sucks ki have one now and i have just started a new job,, and my insurance doesn't start for a month. i have had one before and i know it isn't going to do anything but get worse

  • be careful, even if your insurance does kick in a month from now, this may be considered a "pre-existing" condition, so be sure you find out if it is covered before you go to the doctors.

  • The abscess was horrible... the surgeries (I had 2) were not not nearly as bad as getting lanced. Even getting packed... yes, it's uncomfortable, but nothing near the ANIMAL of a surgeon I had lance me. The surgeon I had remove the cyst(s) was phenomenal. If anyone is in Jersey, look up Dr. Steven Lowry, he is phenomenal and will take VERY good care of you. I couldn't ask for a better, more understanding physician.

  • I just had the surgery one week ago and there were 2 cysts one above the other! The operation was nothing, I felt nothing as I was put to sleep but since I woke up it started to annoy me so much! The pain is not that bad, but I can't sit nor lay on the back... It's just the recovery that sucks... One month minimum to recover but I know I will need like 6 weeks if there is no problems with the wound.

  • im suffering from it right now, and being in the military, im pretty much told to suck the pain up. Im really hating life.

  • @Higgs666 when i was in they made me remove it

  • People in the Military are usually discharged from service if they have a severe or bad cyst. Why not you? I'd complain ..but ive never been in anything such as you so not sure how they deal with it now.

  • NO they dont discharge you! they make you get surgery and get rid of it. then its back to service. As long as it is not permanent then it is ok.

  • @Higgs666 make sure you get ridd of the cyst cause then the inffection could get wors. i'll pray for ur recovery. but extract that.

  • very painful i hated it

  • i think it's good that you took the time to explain what this predicument. 5 star

  • i agree

  • had mine removed 5 times to date. Pain in the ass, literally. Just started feeling it again. 6 times a charm.. Thank god for Canadian Health Insurance.

  • wait. you've had it cut completely out and its come back 5 different times?

  • yup. 5 surguries. the first time was the worst. since then i have figured out how to move and sleep without disturbing the area.

They completely cut it out each time. they have refused to show it to me until the last time, I demanded to see what they are removing. Its mine, i want to see, I said.

  • that sucks. did they take it all? how big is it?

I felt mine it feels like its about as big around as my thumb but is just a ball.. the ones i keep seeing are like tubes and crap along their tailbone. I got a lump above it that looks kinda like a white mole. but other than that, no big problem right now. cept I do get sharp quick pains to the left of the area or to the left and down. I think it will just hit nerves every now and then or something. w/e.

  • i know how u feel. i am currently wearing a wound vac, this being my 4th surgery. that is my saying too "this is a pain in the ass, literally"..and yes, thank god for canadian health insurance!

  • got mine removed....pain right now those things r n joke....atall...i wouldnt wish that on my enemies...

  • oooh I don't know. I think I might wish it on my enemies, give it to those Al kita whoevers who keep trying to kill everyone. that'll teach them a lesson :P

  • Doxycycline is a suboptimal antibiotic for skin. Diclox or Cephalexin or Erythromycin are optimal, with Erythromycin least optimal. I&D minimizes use of antibiotics.

  • Irrigation and drainage for those wondering.

Doxy got mine..... for a year......

  • How the heck do you all get those things?

  • Did M. Night listen to his parents and switch professions?

  • Had mine cut out as it was growing around my spine - the hole was so big I could get my hand in there - 3 months of dressing changing and burning the surface to stop it healing so the skin and flesh grew back - that was in 1986 - just found out I got another one...................

  • i just got mine lanced today.. worst pain ive ever felt but after it was so worth it i feel better already im just hoping it will go away and i wont have to get the surgery but if i do i will do it because the pain of it just there waiting to be drained is unreal....

  • so truthful...

  • My boyfriend had this start about 2 years ago but wouldnt let me see it after he had a bad flare up. I insisted he let me look at it because im in school to be an RN and I knew it was something that needed to be taken care of. I insisted he see a surgeon and have it removed ASAP. Lucky for him he listened to me and had it removed without needing to have an open wound with packing. I suggest if you suspect you have this...get it taken out right away to avoid a painful outcome/recovery.

  • Just got mine drained today. The size of a tennis ball it was--unreal pain.

  • i used to play videogames for about 15 hours a day for about 3 years thats how i got mine

  • @HardstylePlaylist pmsl that actually made me laugh

  • mine was so terrible that i actually passed out from pain trying to do self surgery on it when i was younger

    ugh

    worst pain ever man

i had percocet 5's they helped

  • i had myn removed 2 months ago and still in the process of dressing the wound.

  • yeah man i did the same. from the inside out healing type thing i had to pack it with a bunch of gauze, luckily my mother is an RN and she does stuff like this daily so i had her do it because having a huge hole in me and stuffing stuff in there is too fuckin gross. i have a scar now but its healed and been good for awhile.

  • i just came to know i have this on my bum...

    shit

and i play videogames as well....

    i will stop now

  • If it drains itself and the swelling goes away, IS it healed ? OR do you have to take something out? by sergery?

  • I'm not a Dr. but what I would be concerned about is how clean it is inside where it drained out. There is still a "pocket" there where the fluid was, like an empty water balloon. If you're not taking prescription drugs to avoid infection, you might be facing the same thing in a couple of months. Also, usually the pocket is packed with special gauze to help it heal properly and cleanly - to do this successfully, it may need to be opened up. But it sounds shallow, so it shouldn't be too bad.

  • i asked for the surgeon to make as little a scar as poss, its very painful for weeks after the op and i'm not kiddin! worse than childbirth. but i got through. its healed nicely with proper aftercare now. advice to anyone who is looking on net about this and is about to go for the same op don't look at pics on the net! they are worst case scenarios! caught early you'll have hardly any scarring. very painful operation which you have to be strong to get over fast. but you will i promise. xx

  • I've had 2 surgeries to excise a pilonidal cyst, with a 30 month recovery so far - I'm a 29 year old Caucasian male, not too hairy, but before this I was very athletically active (rowing & mountain biking = sitting, weights & jogging). The biggest problems I've had are 1. tearing the new, fragile tissue due to sitting, 2. infections, and 3. "pockets" where the tissue has bridged during healing, effectively creating a new cyst. I've found that NO sitting, and no tap water to the wound help most

  • No tap water to the wound means using a water proof bandage to cover the wound while showering, and no baths, even with epsom salts. After two years of following one surgeon's advice to take epsom salt baths and showers to flush out the wound I was getting an infection every couple of months. I got another surgeon's opinion and he said not to expose it to tap water at all, the wound healed amazingly fast with no infections since. I'm not a doctor, I'm just relaying my experience.

  • thanks very good response, but scare me at same time.lol :S

  • if a pilonidal cyst is not operated what will happen?

  • itll turn into pilonidal sinus and you will end up with SEVERAL of these huge cysts all over your back. i had mine checked right away and got off eeasy. my doc put me antibiotics and i just kept draining it. i havent had any problems since. just make sure you keep your ass crack clean(shaved helps too). a heat sorce(water bottle or heating pad) on the cyst is good and very comforting as well. seriously, get that shit treated at the very first sign! even if you dont have insurance

  • Thanks.

  • that was actualy very intresting,

but i actualy got my pilonidal cyst after i injured my self on a skateboard fall
