if its a 1.0i it'll really need a GT kit stuck onto it with stikaflex or equivelent and the rear arches cutting/round off. Rest of it is just easier to buy a saxo vts or 106 gti cheap/damaged and take all the suspension (4 stud) and engine/loom off it - fit to the AX and job done really. join the AX owners club for all the info!

wow really good vid. got an old 91 gt, planing on doing a 16v turbo on it. but as my project comes on i can see, im allmost out of space in the enginebay, not much room for the turbo :P got any ideas what i should do..?? custom make a radiator to move further up front??

put the rad further up front. ive the same issue on my new ax 'sport' car im building with gt28rs, dp engineering manifold etc there isnt much room for anything up front, no idea where im going to fit a front mount but keep your eyes peeled on my video's i'll make one when its done around this time nxt year hopefully. should be good. lighter than this one, group a suspension and 300bhp. =]

jessop have you got any more detailed pictures of the yellow beast? in particular the suspension mounts under the front of the car with the fabricated radius arms? am building an axgti for stage rallying and need as much info on prep as i can get hold of.. ta

My project thread for the Sport should be updated in the next 2 months. Should have paint and the suspension back on it !

cost me a fair bit as this video is pretty old now, its come a long way since. If you go to the saxo sport club website into the project section and search for 'jessop vts' and check my thread out all the info is in there. Its up to you if you go as far as samco, painting the bay, bigger brakes etc etc. it can be done for under a grand, including 4 stud suspension, wheels and engine however its never going to look 'pretty' for that !

Yeah, cos i was lookin at ax shells, and there's some that are cheap. Saw one that only had 13k on from new! So could get that, and also saw a C2 VTS on ebay for bout 400quid with 12k on it. then just getin the vts brakes, gti kit and spoiler exhaust and all that would be good for to start off with. i don't know too much about engines to be fair, how easy do they go into ax's? ta for reply

i just got given a citroen AX its got nothing done to it so its a bit of a banger on looks engine runs smoothly though, not bad for a first car, guna use it for about 6 months then get a saxo methinks :)

My 1.4 Diesel gets 60 miles per gallon.

Not really, just good electrical knowledge of how to wire the saxo engine loom to the AX dash, run a few wires for fuel pump etc. I suggest starting wiht a bit more than £1000 too, as youll want to fit new timing belt, h/g, suspension bushes, strut bearings, droplinks etc to get it feeling tight again. A set of koni yellows or even better, Bilsteins & some decent springs will have you a really well handling car with a bit of poke ! =]

Start with an EFI car, not a carb model too. Best of luck. CJ

Since your a fiat man, i'll drop you a hint anyway. Get a set of catcams 708's, Whichever engine management your mapper prefers to use (KMS is a popular choice for these engines? but omex, dta etc is fine, just u wont get a plug'n'play adapter loom then!). Decent manifold, see GMC Motorsport for this, whichever exhaust system tickles your fancy and a decent filter with standard air intake system and youll make some really good power. About a realistic 150bhp > 155bhp. Wont be shy on track then!

is there any fabricating needed to fit the 16v engine to the ax? i have a spare £1000 that was going to be spent on my bravo but that needs a rebuild now due to running to much boost so i need a runaround just looking for a bit of info mate as that car is fucking right peice of kit.

300 has been done in a saxo..

and i know 400 has also been done, but has not yet been revealed to the public yet by the said tuner. Is unreal though the amount of development gone into it, gearbox cost about 10 grand alone i believe.

230bhp isnt so bad in an ax once its moving. ;)

yea good point lol and im sure your a wikid driver so you can easily handle it but i wouldnt be able 2 drive a front wheel drive car with that much power without crashing lol but then again i drive a mk1 Punto with 60bhp so i cant really talk! lol good luck dude!

Another AX ofcourse which im doing a 16v conversion to, only to a much higher standard [SPA design gauges, lots of carbon, switch panels, bright yellow with rallye vinyl etc] Check the thread out on the pistonheads forum in Reader's Cars section, page #1 or #2 i think it is at the moment. ;)

Near Middlesbrough, and depends what you want doing. Engine maintenance, belt tensioners h/g, clutch etc. Who supplies engine & loom, is ecu already unlocked etc...
