@chiefishere thanks Chiefishere - it is a very popular competition - this year was a little harder to get long distances as thermals were suppressed with the wet weather beforehand and a few days with inversions. Registration for next years comp actually opens tomorrow and the 70 places fill in a day or so due to the high demand. I'm looking forward to filming this upcoming comp if i can get a place quickly enough. Thanks for posting and happy flying!
@JulioCastagnino hi Julio, this is a Fun190 from Airborne in Australia. It is a great beginners glider, or glider for flying on the sand dunes for any type of pilot. It isn't really the best 'cross country' glider, so this competition has a special category for the 'floaters' like mine, with easier tasks than the high performance gliders. The Fun190 (also comes in larger and smaller) is a very forgiving glider and recommended for beginners.
@MrAndrew1101 Thanks, I've been looking for a hang glider this days but i've never ridden one before. I wanna get into this so bad! I live in peru so its gonna be kinda hard to get one over here. Wich american glider would yo recommend me? My weigh is like 63 Kg. About 146 pounds i think. Thanks again!
@JulioCastagnino hey Julio, the best advice I can give you is to learn hang gliding through an instructor, who will be able to guide you on what sort, and what size, of glider best suits you. It would be dangerous to do it any other way as there are a lot of subtleties involved. Good luck!
@blackjeepnglider another YouTube member says it is a remake of an old tune, I thought it was very catchy too with a great beat...glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks heaps for a great vid. Looks like you used 2 gopro's? Could not be there this year and did the scoring last year, so hopefully I'll see you next year to fly and party:-))))
@adriaanrm Hey Adriaan, the scorers job looked a busy task in itself. Dawson did a great job of it this year, having to learn the ropes and find the software drivers/cables and normal glitch solving. Just the one GoPro, and a std camera that records vid and moved them around for different flying days. thanks for posting and looking forward to meeting you next year :-)
@snusleppa3 I imagine that Norway is a beautiful country to fly over (in spring/summer). The mountain we flew from is part of what we call the "Snowy Mountains" but not anywhere near the snow that Norway gets. Ah well Snusleppa, until spring rolls around again in Norway those cold pilots can live vicariously though YouTube videos :-) thanks for the post!
@serioussstuff the good, the bad and the ugly? looking forward to it...i only landed in bomb out once (picked my own paddock out front after scratching lower and lower), so doubt you will have me on film :-)
@bigfred190 thanks Fred, was a top week mate! Glad to see you up and flying again and enjoying what you love, look forward to flying with you again soon!!
