wow. watching the creation of such a fantastically brilliant set of music has literally given me the chills and overwhelmed me with its power. John Williams is absolutely brilliant, a true craftsman of musical brilliance. God I loved this music too,.
this is a fantastic site--i'm a 15 year old violinist (i post violin sound samples on youtube). i became interested in composition and especially the impact of a musical score on the emotional impact of a movie after watching the movie platoon (barber's adagio for strings). you videos are really eye opening. thanks for posting them :D
Noone would believe it. But it's true: John Williams for USA is like Tchaikovsky for Russia. I am proud and happy to live in his life episode so I can say that I've seen him alive!
This man is absolutely brilliant. His music has inspired my life in so many complex ways, but all of them wonderful. I bought the Star Wars vinyl 2-LP set the day it was released back in 1977. One month before the movie was released. I became very intimately familiar with all of the cues prior to seeing "Star Wars" on the big screen, and having done that gave me a much more connected film experience than I could have had otherwise. God bless John Williams, and long may he score!
I think the music he wrote for ET was the sucess of the movie. The Music is still in my head 27years later. I remember when ET was so popular back in 1981-82. I was 8

Is that the black Album with the pictures in the middle of it? If so I have the same one from 1977!
