listening this for over 50 times and my opinion is that Emperor are Black metal professors , that is for sure after saw Left Hand Path lessons of Ihsahn and Emperor guitar session with Samot and Ihsahn. There are 3 paths in Black metal like are 3 paths in christian religion (ortodox , catoligue and protestants) and the paths are Dimmu Borgir , Emperor and Immortal. Dont want to insollate Burzum and Mayhem , but current Black metal scene shows that strongest and creatfull have survived.

people who complain about triggers don't even understand what they do. it doesnt make the drummer faster!!!! it cleans the drummers signal! so instead of drummers that kick at like lets say, 280bpm 16thnotes...with an acoustic kick with no triggers would sound muffled and nasty, no matter how clean the drummer kicks. triggers are just a premade kick sound thats played with every hit, learn something. every metal band you listen to now is triggered, except those that arent fast enough to need!

@jatan616 I fully understand what triggers do, and I understand why a lot of drummers use them. However, some people actually prefer that 'muffled and nasty' sound you refer to. Me being one of them. And trust me, I've seen so many gigs ruined because of triggers, Mayhem and Immortal for two. At the end of the day though it's all down to personal preferance.

I don't know why fans complain of the use of technology in BM. Though Trym's drumming is triggered, he's still one of the best in his style. Synthetizers give that dark beautiful atmosphere to the music. I agree with killbridead. Sit the fuckback and enjoy it!
