  • I have a banjo uke (check out my channel for some songs) and I am considering getting one of these as a backup. I am self taught, using YouTube and the George Formby Society.

  • This has nothing on my lanikai ckcgc concert. Hawaiian Koa body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, gold die cast tuners, Aquila strings. Also, u fucking noob u don't use a pick on a uke. Picks are for steel string guitars. Also, tune by ear. U don't need to waste money on a tuner. Or jus use a piano.

  • @SubParWaffle Everyone look out for waffle kid, shes a BADASS. Nobody buy a tuner, use your piano! because we all have pianos layin around, right?

  • 50 dollars :O here its 70 euros thats about 80 dollars :(

  • what was the song you were playing called?

  • aquila are the best strings in my opinion. combines the perks of nylon and gut strings.

  • Is there better one than that one wich one whould u recomened

  • I just got one and how would I go about learning it? thanks

  • If you can"t upgrade tuners , tip : pull hard enough on each string , (without breaking them ofcourse) and retune , keep pulling & retuning them till they don't go flat anymore , works almost with every string instrument, do it w/ very clean hands ..

  • Would somebody who is used to playing the guitar get confused when trying to learn the ukulele?

  • Which is better, Lanikai LU-21 soprano or Ibanez UKS10 Ukulele Soprano

  • I can tune by ear and i'm 11 lol

  • @hairplug1 Cool story bro, tell it again

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 I can tune by ear and i'm 11 lol

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 AHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 BTW matt, good review... But i have a problem here... im begginner at strings instruments so i neither play guitar but im going to buy the lanikai lu 21... the point is... should i buy soprano? or tenor... whats ur opinion...thanks :)

  • @hairplug1 That's nice.. do your parents know that you have a youtube account? you have to be 13+ to have one

  • thank you so much i saw this at a shop and wanted some uke ever since, this totally helped my decision

  • i have a question, what is the difference between a concert uke, standard uke, soprano uke, tenor uke, and baritone ukes? i'm a beginner and i'm not sure what kind of uke to buy for my first one.

  • @xchoib0195x basically sound and size.

  • What kind of string?

  • Sorry if you find this harsh but, this review is not very useful as the audio quality is so poor you can't really tell what the instrument sounds like. The description was nice and all but it doesn't tell me whether or not it's worth getting one for the sound of it.

  • So helpful! Thanks so much :)

  • "..Yes that was from Blue Clues"

    Lol :3

  • Yeah that e string is difficult at first but third day and its not falling out of tune too bad.

  • I like that blues clues reference. Sounds good! But a touch out of tune. I think the E string. Maybe I just have a broken ear :)

  • cool video! did it come with the pick?

  • @thepraseinma Thanks! and no haha :P

  • In my experience I've found that most "cheap" soprano style ukeleles are hard to keep in tune and usually have poor intonation. I would suggest getting a concert or tenor uke. Happy Strumming ^^

  • Very nice vid.....LOSE THE PICK!!!!

  • I just bought this model and love it. it is my first Uke. <3

  • give me one??? pls??

  • That's an awesome tuner lol

  • i really wanna get this ukulele, it'll be my first. is learning ukulele difficult?

  • @kiwihead441 It is a great first ukulele! and no not at all, very simple and fun to learn!

  • The way he flicks the pick out! :D haha

  • yes that was form blue's clues....

  • not a solid uke!! the back is part ply wood .. not solid wood bro!!

  • why is there a pick with an uke come on m8

  • viva la vida --> pinball wizard --> some janky thing at the end... O.O

  • I love this little Ukulele..I have two of them.

  • WHOA FIX YOUR C STRING BRUH!!!

  • wuts the diffrence between soprano and standard?

  • @JulieNicoleSays They are the same thing mate (:

  • @JulieNicoleSays Soprano is the standard size. Concert has a slightly bigger body and bigger body, Tenor has a bigger body than the concert and an even longer neck. The biggest ukulele size is the baritone. It's almost like a small guitar and the tuning is different.

  • It does not sounds like "in tune" or you were playing something wrong, sorry,

  • Have you ever played the LU-21P? Just wondering if it would sound the same

  • @Scarth07 I have never played the LU-21P but looking at the description the only difference between them are the shapes of the body. I would imagine they sound the exact same.

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 how much does a chromatic tuner cost?

  • @sykoactive $10-$20

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3

SO im gonna buy my first ukulele, and i dont know If I should buy the soprano or the concert ukulele!!

Please help me decide!! I need a quick and streight answer!

    thanks

  • @jeanpzavala it all comes down to the price, if the concert isn't that much more than the soprano than just get the concert but for a beginner it doesn't make much of a difference. i'd say go with the cheaper one (soprano) its smaller, lighter and if you find out you don't really like the ukulele then you don't lose much $

  • @jeanpzavala I'd say it depends on your preference. A soprano is great for some what more smaller hands, and is more compact to hold, but fun to play! A concert gives you more space, but is basically the same as the soprano. Good luck!

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 hehe. My ukulele cost $15 dollars. I got it absolute dirt cheap, with a gig bag and everything. It is crap, and I'm about to get a proper koa concert uke. THe point is, chromatic tuners in my experience cost 4-5 dollars.

  • yeah aquila (akeela) makes very good strings

  • Blues Clues!!!

  • when i got it its untuned and i bought a tuner and when i tried to tune it it gives me the wrong keys. For example, when i try to tune C it give me like D... my tuner is made by KORG GA-1 its a guitar and bass tuner. can i do anything about this ??? need help

  • @filipinokid111 That is because the KORG GA-1 is a guitar and bass tuner ONLY. You need a chromatic tuner to tune a ukelele. What this means is that the GA-1 can only pick up and tune certain frequencies (meant for guitar and bass) while chromatic tuners span a wide varieties of frequencies making it able to tune all kinds of instruments (including a ukulele)

I would go for a Korg CA1 or a CA-40 chromatic tuner, both relatively cheap ($10-$15) and will tune your ukulele like a charm.

  • @MattCarlBMWZ3 thank you im gonna buy one today

  • ya really need to work on tuning

  • Comment removed

  • HAHAHA! YOU ARE SO FUNNY!

  • thanks,i bought this

  • Have you tried the makala mk-s ? I'm trying to decide between the two and it's hard to compare when no store around me sells either one.

  • @mustardseed2007 I have a mk-s. It's a very good ukulele for $50. It has a very clear sound.

  • the strings "Aquila" (Ah-quee-lah or the american version Ah-Kee-Lah) and their "Nylgut" are one of top 3 brands.... the other 2 are "Worth," and the D'Addario Pro Arte' strings. make sure you get the right size strings.

oh and don't use a pick.... it takes away from the real sound...check out some of my fave vids from the best uke players in the world.

  • It's actually quite out of tune in this video.

  • does anyone with this uke find the fretboard too small? because this is cheap price n all but i may need a concert size but dont have the xtra dough. would this fit?

  • was that all my loving when you started playing?

  • thanks so much for the review! i have been researching purchasing a ukulele, so thanks for all the great information!

  • how do you know the differences between soprano and tenor and stuff?

  • @THEalexragonTV : The sizes of ukes goes (from smallest to largest) soprano or also known as standard, concert, tenor, and baritone.

  • @THEalexragonTV

usually by size or frets. the tenor usually has 18 frets, and the soprano usually has 12 frets. concert has about 14 frets... i dont know anything about baritone,,,, its strung differently... but i do know it has a huge body

  • I bought this uke and I absolutely love it. :) I agree completely with what you said about it falling out of tune. I have had mine for a few days and the "A" string needs to be turned every twenty minutes.

  • i got mine for $34

  • @pandaxdude where did u get urs at?? is it the same as this one hehe

  • Lol, "eastern mahogany." It's nato wood from Mora trees. It's about as much mahogany as pine is ebony. Eastern mahogany is a BS name they call it to trick people into thinking it's something fancier than it is. On top of that it's plywood, not solid. It's is however a fine ukulele for the money and yes it does come with Aquila strings now.

  • Did the Aquila strings come with the Uke?

  • Got a sweet laniki concert uke on eBay brand new 31 bucks the neck had seperated from the body a little elmers wood glue and I have a nice ukulele for cheap

  • Did you put different strings on it or are those the ones it came with? I ask because in every pic I've seen of the LU-21 online it has black strings. Not a big, of course, just curious... Oh, and nice review. ^_^

  • @BioSim08 it came with white strings that is in the video... and thanks =)

  • 2:42 Pinball WIzard?

  • $50???? They're $9.99 right now!!!!

  • @edgarr420

    Really Where????????

    i want one!!!

  • depends where your from cause of excahnge rates.

  • I just got my LU-21p in today, no nothing and ukes, guitars, or stringed instruments. Got it tuned and it already sounds not awful! Sooo happy. :) Thanks for this video, it really helped me choose this one and I don't regret it!

  • i got the lu-21p. pretty much the same thing, just in the pineapple shape that i prefer [okay, love]. great sound, easy to learn on. nice review.

  • How much was shipping?

  • No matter what those idiots say, I found this very helpful. I have been looking to purchase a ukulele for some time now, and had it narrowed down to this or another one. I think I know which I'll be purchasing now. Thanks a bunch!
