When my 5 year old neighbor was very close to death from cancer, my very devote catholic mother prayed for the intercession of St. Therese of Lisieux to help the family cope with the child's suffering. A week before he died, the dracaena corn plant that we had had for 10 years sprouted a little white flower that filled the entire room with the smell of roses. My dad took the plant in, and the gardening experts were perplexed, as this was impossible. It never sprouted a flower again after that.
Many years ago, My mother was suffering with terrible heart palpitations. She went to see a cardioligist and had some tests done, But they couldn`t find out the cause, Day and night her heart was skipping beats and pounding out of her chest for about 8 months non stop. One night her palpitations were keeping her awake and she held on to a picture of St Therese and prayed for her intercession, She woke up at 3 AM that morning to the smell of roses and the palpitations never came back ever again.
It is interesting that Eckhart Tolle commented that there is a kind of energy coming from St. Francis' tomb..."like an opening," he said. Has anyone noticed this about St. Therese' tomb?
@seanom23 Oh, you don't know the story behind, why I said what I said. I know well that we should ask God for forgiveness, not the intercessor. But if i disrespected the name of the said intercessor in one way or another, I think I owe her an apology. If I hurt your toe, for sure you will not expect me to ask God for forgiveness, instead you will be expecting me to apologized to you. We have different experiences in life. There are basis why people say what they say.
I used to sleep in church, all the time... you would too, if you started rolling news papers at 2 in the morning,, so you could have them delivered by 6...then you had to go to church,,, and strech out on a pew somewhere. They didn't even have cushions. Does that mean i might be starseed material?? On a side note,, i'm a knight owl,, for some reason i wake up at noon,, no matter what time i go to sleep--?

I'm actually going to recommend the book 'Light of the Night' by Francois Six even though he is very critical Therese's sister who he claims doctored much of her writings after her death.

my mom did this prayer, and we had recently moved to Canada, she knew only 1 woman here, that woman gave her a plate thing sculpted as a rose where you light little candles in it!

There have been a few movies made of the saints - anthony of Padova, St. Francis, Padre Pio - movies that help to edify us especially when we are in despair. How I wish they could make a movie of St. Theresa. Perhaps someday... with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

I've read her autobiography twice, and it completely changed my view on pain and suffering. Any form of heartache, illness, or mental confusion, I've come to embrace and savor. I view it as a beautiful gift from God.

Yes, I took her name as my own for Confirmation. She was creative also-and wrote a play about St. Joan of Arc. Her sister took that pix of her as Joan, and kneeling when her fever was raging. She knew Therese was prob. going not going to make it. Not many saints have so many great photos:) You can see her great love and intelligence, even amusement,in her eyes.
I loved this video.The pure and simple love for Jesus of St. Therese is so beautiful. I never feel quit good enough or could do enough for Jesus. I want to be closer to Him. She shows me how to live the Little Way. It is the little things that do mean a lot. To touch a heart and let that heart see Jesus in you. When I fall I often thing of my friend St. Therese and how I need to be humble and simple like she was and give up all my failings to Jesus. Then I can be closer to Him.

Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to one our most popular Carmelite saints. She was a genuine one of kind and I encourage all to read her autobiography...Story of Soul. I always associate the meaning of love with Therese. By the way, her feast is coming up this October 1.

The relics of St. Therese are coming to Westminster Cathedral in London on Monday 12th. October untill !5th. October. See Westminster Cathedral web site for details the saint's stay in London.

According to Wikipedia (who shows the same pic), she wrote a theater play about Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) and played that role seen in the photo.

She wrote a play about her favourite saint, Joan of Arc, and starred in it herself, in the convent. That is a picture taken during the production.

There have been a few movies made of the saints - anthony of Padova, St. Francis, Padre Pio - movies that help to edify us especially when we are in despair. How I wish they could make a movie of St. Theresa. Perhaps someday... with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

She wanted the Arms of Jesus to be her elevator to Heaven, she chose to throw herself into His arms in total trust and abandonment...Oh how i love Jesus's Little Flower, and I am so blessed to share her Birthday of Jan.2...I put a rose near her statue in my parish on our birthdays, and it is still beautiful all these months later, Oh St. Therese show us your Little Ways!!!!

KNOCKLYON, Co. DUBLIN to see saint Therese's relics, very very moving being the presence of such a saint, moving, i hope one day myself i can live with her in heaven, god bless to her

I've read her autobiography twice, and it completely changed my view on pain and suffering. Any form of heartache, illness, or mental confusion, I've come to embrace and savor. I view it as a beautiful gift from God.
This is a BEAUTIFUL tribute that reinforces my realizations from her.

Yes, I took her name as my own for Confirmation. She was creative also-and wrote a play about St. Joan of Arc. Her sister took that pix of her as Joan, and kneeling when her fever was raging. She knew Therese was prob. going not going to make it. Not many saints have so many great photos:) You can see her great love and intelligence, even amusement,in her eyes.

I loved this video.The pure and simple love for Jesus of St. Therese is so beautiful. I never feel quit good enough or could do enough for Jesus. I want to be closer to Him. She shows me how to live the Little Way. It is the little things that do mean a lot. To touch a heart and let that heart see Jesus in you. When I fall I often thing of my friend St. Therese and how I need to be humble and simple like she was and give up all my failings to Jesus. Then I can be closer to Him.
