Karmichael hunt is a rugby league player, usually in league under pressure you can voluntarily hit the ball out to avoid a try , he must of had is rugby league instincts on when he did this . Poor bloke must of felt like an idiot

It's one of the odd law differences between league and union. A French winger threw the ball out over the side line in a union test match a few years and got carded I think so it can happen to everyone under pressure. Not sure why the law difference between the two sports really!

@bedsyrulz No shit Call.. he armed the ball away of the tryzone/malfield - normally penalty try for opponent and a yellow card. you can only try saving by kicking the ball out of the tryzone or catching them and killing the ball by touch down in own tryarea..

the same thing was by tommy bowe against the All Blacks in 2008, differently was that he got yellow carded..
